BaconofChaos
http://www.equestria...pony-names.htmlSo, a few BG ponies now have official names.I predict that no one will ever use them outside a few jokes.
Whitehawke
"Lyra Heartstrings" is catching on, although some refuse to acknowledge it.Noteworthy is probably one of the most accepted, if only because Blues wasn't very popular to begin with.Berryshine ironically sounds much like a drunk-related pun like Berry Punch. A lot of users refuse to use this one because the blind bag pony with this name is a unicorn (Berry Punch is best known as an earth pony).Golden Harvest gets the most flak, although hoping she'd be Carrot Top was a foal's wish because of a certain comedian with the same name. The biggest irony I've seen is people saying these names are unimaginative. Because "Lyra" apparently required so much more thought to think up.
Astalakio
Berryshine?! I'm sure I've already used that for the name of a secondary character in my RP character's bio! Thieveses!
JCtheBrony
Strangely enough I like Golden Harvest the most and despise the Heartstrings name. Heartstrings is what I picture being thrown around in a romantic comedy, not the name of a pony. :\Golden Harvest is just a nice simple name that fits well enough. I'll still call her Carrot Top all the same though, if only because it's ingrained into my mind so much.

Angie Cakes
ah man D: in english class we have to write a fictional article about something related to our chosen topics (ponies for me ). I just finished writing my rough draft last weekend about this exact thing. I even had hasbro change the names for legal reasons in this article I made up.I'm not re-writing it. I hate this stupid project, I just want it to be over.
Angie Cakes
I just realized that blues/noteworth is a male pony toy. how many male my little pony toys have there been so far in any of the generations?I also included in my article that hasbro made thier first male pony toy, so if he actually IS thier first, then this is crazy ._. Whitehawke
There was a set of male pony toys from G1 (a big brother set, I think), but I don't know how many there were.As far as this gen is concerned, Noteworthy, Big MacIntosh and the other male pony (Sir Colton, I think) are the first ones. Dunes
I may be alone in this, but I like these as official names for them.Yeah, I think they work pretty well. I'm not sold on Heartstrings yet, but someone mentioned "Lyra Heartstrings" up there and that makes it a little better. And I can see "Carrot Top" being a nickname that stuck, either because Mz. Harvest doesn't like it and everyone knows it, or she keeps it up 'cause she doesn't like her real name.I do think Berryshine sounds like something that could be alcoholic and I therefore approve. At least it still starts with "Berry"!
Angie Cakes
oh, I forgot to give my opinion I really like this. even if the names aren't the ones we gave them, at least they're acknowledging us. I also feel as though there's a fluttershy mold coming sometime in the future.
Whitehawke
Speaking of feminine male ponies, take a look at Big Macintosh's description in French."Gentille" is the feminine form of gentle. We know Big Macintosh is a guy, so I think it's fair to say that the translators have no idea who the characters are and just assume every pony is a girl.Either that, or Hasbro enforces Rule 63.

Haven't you ever seen that old quiz 'Porn star or My Little Pony?" Everyone also has to realize that the names Hasbro chooses have to pass their legal department. Lyra probably wouldn't because of the copyright for the toys from the Golden Compass movie.I just realized that blues/noteworth is a male pony toy. how many male my little pony toys have there been so far in any of the generations?I also included in my article that hasbro made thier first male pony toy, so if he actually IS thier first, then this is crazy ._.There were male ponies in generations one and two (for gen one, this is not all of them, there were colts as well)Generation 2: Clever Clover was a male AND one of the first ponies released. There were several others, but they were all in the same molds as the female ponies (unlike Generation 1 which had separate molds for males)

There wasn't even a basis for comparison.
