I like the games, even the new designs, but they were never worth memorizing, not even the old ones.

Neo, no offense, but neither of those are in the same ballpark as Madoka or AoT. Ouran is a joke compared to both. Fairy Tail is good, but quite a bit longer, and doesn't have nearly as much substance as Madoka. Though it is at least comparable on a cursory level to AoT. However, knowing Dio, NEITHER of those would be his tastes. The best would be AoT, but Madoka is too good to not watch.

I should mention though that on a cursory level (Action adventure) Fairy Tail is far more comedy driven, while AoT is military drama. So it still wouldn't be suggested here.

What? That's just silly. My friend is a fandom writer for Star Trek AND is published. If the fandom grows large enough it will become possible to do both. And writing original fiction is much different than fandom writing. I will say that your prose style would translate well if you decide to head down that path. Not sure about publishing quality, but you do write better than several writiers who have been published.

Personally, I'd take this as a compliment.
