1. Hey FlinkPamingo! You've got a good character here, and I like her unique Talent. But after talking to some of the other RP Helpers, there was one thing that didn't seem to fit right: Compass Rose's cutie mark doesn't seem to match her talent. He talent is being a merchant, and being able to create stories to sell her wares. A compass would normally symbolize traveling, navigation, map making, or something similar. The easiest way to fix this would be to change the cutie mark (you wouldn't have to change the character's name) or add something into the application to say what the cutie mark symbolizes to the character and her talent. Please let me know how you want to proceed.
2. Hi White Cloud. Bellosh will be reviewing your app, but as Fluttershy's roleplayer I need to point something out. In the rules for the World of Equestria RP, it states that your original character can have no relationships of any kind with the cast characters. I'm going to have to ask for you to remove all references in the application about your character's relationship with Fluttershy, if you want to keep this application for the World of Equestria RP.
3. Who is this Phil guy? What the hay is a 'Time Wizard' anyway? I say we just reject this and... wait, we can't just reject it? Darn. Oh well, here goes: Seriously though, good app, and interesting, funny character. Only one minor detail, it's it's mostly word confusion: "This came to and when, after a few months something she prepared made one of her professors violently ill." This sentence seems a bit confusing the way it is written. I understand what you meant, but it could be clarified with something like "A few months after she was accepted, something she prepared..." Just fix that and we can delete... I mean approve this app.
4. Back when SL's pony areas were just getting started, there was a group of us from Canterlot that all played. I even started a Canterlot group, but it's inactive now. Manestream and Aria/Artax are SL veterans, and I know Mane used to own property in some Furry sims. I logged in tonight and got totally lost, because the sims have changed so much since I last played...
5. You guys are ALL amateurs. Probably the first electronic game I ever played was this: Mattel Football. I also remember the first day when my Dad brought home a brand new Atari 2600 from Sears. Now get off my video game lawn
6. Hello Grimshy. First, I can tell that you put some time and thought into this character. But unfortunately, as it stands, this character needs work before it could be accepted into the World of Equestria RP section. We, as the RP Helpers, strive to keep the WoE in the same spirit as the show that inspired it: light-hearted and fun, with some adventure thrown in. Now, I may cover some of what Davroth has already said, but I'm going to go through the app from the beginning. For the age, we generally define the Mane 6 ponies as "Young Mares", so his age should probably be "Young Stallion." In the physical appearance, Davroth is correct: Your pony can't have antlers as well as a horn. No pony in the show has antlers, and that is the model we follow. Also, the broken horn is ok, but not encouraged, and shouldn't be a focal point of the character. You've put his residence in the Everfree Forest, one of the most dangerous places in Equestria. No one has ever been seen to live in the forest, save Zecora, and no ruins have ever been seen that would match the mansion you mention. Also, ponies are very social creatures. Why would he want to live alone in an old building in the woods? That leads in the the description of him as a 'street urchin.' Equestria has been shown to be a land of plenty; There are no poor or homeless ponies in Equestria. Now, if his occupation was as an Astronomer, he could live on the outskirts of a town somewhere he could set a telescope up at night, something he'd not be able to do in the middle of a forest. On his Cutie Mark and the cutie mark story: The 'eclipse madness' you describe would not be allowed. Remember to think in terms of the Friendship is Magic show; Do you think the show would ever feature a pony who went murderously insane during an eclipse, and had a cutie mark that looks like dripping blood? For that matter, because the sun and moon are controlled in Equestria, there would be no such thing as an eclipse. The cutie mark could be changed to just a cresent moon overlying the sun, representing his love of the sky and astronomy. Also, the references to the 'anima' throughout the application would need to be removed. On to the history section. It's fine if his mum was a single mum, but his father could not have been some evil creature. Since the 'eclipse anima' wouldn't be allowed, she'd have had no reason to kick him out of their home. His personality section is generally ok, there's no problem with a mischief maker pony. However, the technology level in WoE doesn't allow for television, so that little section would have to be edited out. Now, I know that's a lot of changes. If you feel that you don't want to make these alterations to your character, there is an alternative. The Crossovers and Free-for-All sections don't have the strict requirements for entry that WoE does. If you prefer, you can change your roleplay type to "Crossovers" and your character would be accepted. Please let me know what your decision is.
7. Oh, hello! So, you’ve decided to join the World of Equestria role play? That’s wonderful! But, um, before you get started, you might want to read Rarity's Simply Fabulous Application Form. I mean, if that’s OK with you… Now, once you know what you have to do to apply, the first thing you have to do is pick what species you want your character to be! So I’ve put together a list of all the cute, and, um, not-so-cute creatures you could be! Now, these rules only apply to the World of Equestria RP. But in Free-for-All, you can play all kinds of fantastic creatures! For now, let’s start with ponies. Pony Types: Earth Ponies Unicorns Pegasus Crystal Ponies Areion (Bat Ponies) Unfortunately, there are only four Alicorns allowed in the World of Equestria, the four Princesses! So, I’m sorry, but your original character can not be an Alicorn, or any kind of winged unicorn, if you want to play in the Mane RP I mean. But ponies aren’t the only creatures you can play! Other Playable Species: Buffalo Changelings (Drones only, with the exception of Queen Chrysalis) Diamond Dogs Donkeys and Mules Dragons (only babies and teenagers) Domestic Farm Animals (Cows, Goats, Sheep) Griffins Hippogriffs (and their Seapony forms) Horses Kirin Minotaurs (They’re not monsters!) Sea Serpents (only babies and teenagers) Sirens Yaks Zebras You can even play as some species that don't appear on our show! A few of those are shown here. We are also open to other creatures that could fit into the RP world! If you want to apply for something like a camel or a giraffe, feel free! The RP Helpers will take a look, and see how well your character might fit in. Deer (all species, including caribou) Giraffes Hippocamps (Dolphin-type Sea ponies) Kelpies (Shark-like Sea Ponies) Chamroshes (Winged Wolves) Perytons (Winged Deer) Serpent Dragons (Eastern-styled Dragons) Qilin (Part-pony, part-deer, and part-serpent dragon) Longma (Qilin relative w/ wings) Yokai (Mysterious spirit creatures) Now, I want to talk about my favorite subject: Animals! Your World of Equestria character can have a pet or ‘companion animal’ in the application. Animals can’t speak… well, I mean most ponies can’t understand them like I can, but they can be quite intelligent! It does mean, though, that most animals can’t be playable characters. You can, however, create a pet with their own personality, and include it in your character’s application! Angel Bunny joins me in a lot of role plays! But, just one thing: You really shouldn't have a large predator as a pet. So no wolves, or tigers, or any dangerous animals like that. Now, um, this next list has creatures that you are not allowed to apply for, and can’t be companions. I’m really sorry about that, but we have to set rules to keep the role play a nice place, and many of these are not very nice creatures… Not Playable: Alicorns (except for the five Princesses) Ahuitzotl Cerberus Cockatrice Huge, gigantic, terrifying, enormous, teeth gnashing, sharp scale having, horn wearing, smoke snoring, could-totally-eat-a-pony-in-one-bite, totally all-grown-up Dragons. Draconequus (with the exception of Discord) Hydras Manticores Parasprites Phoenixes Quarray eels Adult Sea Serpents (with the exception of Steven Magnet) Timberwolves Ursa Majors or Ursa Minors Windigos No monsters No Humans, Humanoids, Demons/Spirits, Aliens, Shape Shifters, Robots, etc. Now, if you have any questions about what kinds of characters you can play in the World of Equestria RP, or are just confused about the rules, you can contact one of the RP Helpers! They are all very nice ponies who will help you with your application! And, um, have fun in the role play!

A&G Ohio

I didn't even know about this Con until your post, and it's happening like 20 minutes drive from me. I probably won't go to A&G, but Cutie Mark Con is happening the first weekend in June at the exact same convention center, and my son and I will probably go to that for at least Saturday.
9. Actually, there are a few more plushes out now. I recently picked up a Fluttershy the same size as the three little ones at Meijer (similar to a Target, but not as widespread) There are also now 20 inch tall plushes from the same company that have been released, like this one, but it seems those are only available online. In fact, as I was posting, I just ordered the big Fluttershy from Target.
10. My son and I went to 2 Pony cons last summer, Trot Con and Canterlot Gardens. Both were pretty small venues, but CG really packed the people into their hotel. I've also been to Dragon*Con in Atlanta several times, which is a huge Con in Atlanta. At a small con, you can expect fewer panels, because they just don't have the rooms. CG had a big conference room for panels, a dealers room, a gaming room, and an autograph room. That was it. Really, I think the only difference between a Pony Con and a SciFi con is the subject matter. You still have cosplayers posing for pictures, you still have cool stuff to buy, you'll still have points where you'll go "I'm not really interested in anything on the schedule, lets go outside for a bit."
11. LOL, well just get into the original FoE before you decide to tackle Project Horizons. And just to echo what Penumbra said, you don't have to have played any of the Fallout games to appreciate FoE. I've only played a couple hours into FO3, and I only started playing it because of FoE. I've also read all the the "big five" stories there, and they are all good, but I'm only about 1/2 way though MN7. PH is rather more gory, MN7 can be downright depressing, and Pink Eyes is more of a comedy. There are many many other side stories out there too, so it just depends how much you find you enjoy the series.
12. Celestia: "Twilight, I want to introduce you to somepony. This is Hasbro. Hasbro has a unique talent. She can give wings to anypony! That's how Cadance got her wings!" (Pony's cutie mark is a pair of wings and a stapler)
13. Technically, no, Derpy is not a mail carrier. That's something the fandom made up. The only 'job' Derpy has ever been seen doing was loading furniture into a moving van. But yes, I definitely agree that the Mane 6 ponies are late teens / early 20s in maturity. As for longevity, that's trickier. In the Mane RP, we ask that people not put numerical ages on their applications for just this reason. There's also the problem of different writers writing the history of the story differently. In 'Winter Wrap-Up," Twilight says that earth ponies (in Ponyville) have been doing WRU the same way for hundreds of years. Then, you have Granny Smith come along and say that she was there when Ponyville was founded. Does that mean the Granny Smith is hundreds of years old? I doubt it, but it does leave the question of how long ponies live wide open.
14. Yes, it was a toy promotion, I can't question that. If you really want to get into it, the whole SHOW is a well written toy commercial. But the show writers didn't treat it as such. The characters were introduced with backgrounds and personalities. These writers take the requests that Hasbro gives them, and turn them into something entertaining. Don't count them out just yet.
15. One of the assumptions people are making is that Twilight somehow automatically becomes super-powerful and has to immediately leave to Canterlot to be put in a leadership position. Think about Cadance though. She was already an Alicorn when Twilight was little, and she was a babysitter. Not exactly a high governmental position. It wasn't until years later that she seemed to become a leader in the Crystal Empire. I'm really hoping to get some kind of background on Cadance in next weekend's episode, or at least her communicating with Celestia going "She's ready."
16. Snips tried to brace his hooves against the shifting pile of apples, but couldn't get any footing. He and Remington were inevitably sliding toward the hole in the center... The colt started to panic, flailing his hooves and willing his magic to do ANYTHING to help him out of this. Just then, he felt somepony's teeth grab onto his tail. He couldn't turn his head to see if Snails had responded, but at the sudden tug, he finally felt his horn spark. He suddenly found himself flying backwards, his teeth still clinched around the tail of the unconscious pegasus. Snips impacted something on the ground. He couldn't focus for a moment, having had all the wind knocked out of him. Whatever he'd landed on, it was a lot softer than the floor of the shed should have been. He shook his head, trying to get his bearings. He was lying on something magenta, or, rather, some pony, and he could just make out 3 smiling daisies... Scrambling to the floor, Snips turned and saw the prone form of his teacher on the ground. "Ohmygosh! Miss Cheerilee are you ok?" he asked the mare, trying to hide a blush that was staining his cheeks. "Where's Remington?"
17. Just a few days ago in this thread, I was commenting how much I'd like to have the Masterpiece Starscream. Well, check out what I found at Toys R Us this week: http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x248/tpphill/20130117_164354.jpg It's not Starscream, but close enough Here's a couple of pictures of the Masterpiece Thundercracker next to his G1 counterpart: http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x248/tpphill/20130117_173418.jpg http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x248/tpphill/20130117_174752.jpg
18. Yeah, what Riverhippo said. Since this event was not officially run by the Canterlot staff, there won't be any badges or awards issued. The next official Canterlot RP event should be the Winter Gala.
19. Snips had finally managed to struggle back to his hooves just as the others got the fire out. He shook himself out, then stood there shivering for a moment as Miss Cheerilee struggled to get things under control. He was cold, he was wet, and he was exhausted... but at least he wasn't bored anymore... Just when things finally seemed to be calming down, there was a crack of thunder, and it started raining! The water he'd just managed to shake off was replaced almost instantly. Snips shot a look up to the offending clouds and shouted "Aw, Come on!!!" He just couldn't seem to catch a break today. Cheerilee and Zecora were herding the foals towards a shed. While most of the ponies were running to get out of the rain, Snips trailed along more slowly. It wasn't like he could get any wetter... A shock of his orange mane had drooped over his face before he finally made it to the shelter of the juicing shed. By the time he finished shaking again, the juicing was already well underway. He made his way over to Snails, and heard Cheerilee ask them to join Remington in the apple vat. "That.. that doesn't sound so bad!" Snips said, brightening a bit. Maybe this could be fun after all! Climbing into the vat with the other two colts, Snips watched as Remington decimated several apples, then suddenly dropped into sleep again. He was getting used to the pegasus' quirk now, but he still rolled his eyes. His breath caught when he noticed Remington's unconscious form began to slide toward the drain in the center of the vat. Snails had bumped the colt away for a moment, but Remington was still heading for the hole. Snips tried to reach out with his magic and grab the pegasus, but nothing happened. Rushing forward, he grabbed the red colt's tail in his teeth. "Shnails!" he shouted though his teeth, "Gif me uh hoof!!"
20. Having read through Sterling's background, it never really explains what his cutie mark is for, or how he got it. I think you were trying to say that his talent was for being in the right place at the right time to help ponies, but there's no real explanation. We'll need you to add in a Cutie Mark Story into his background. Maybe a time where he stumbled into a situation where he was able to help another foal, or something similar.
21. I actually lived in Japan when they started the Masterpiece series, so that Optimus is the Japanese die-cast model. I really wish I had the Masterpiece Starscream, but he's so freaking expensive now.
22. Transformers you say? I've been collecting Transformers since they first came out in the 80s. That shelf shows the majority of my collection, but there's a lot of Armada stuff still in the closet.
23. Fluttershy knew that Twilight was right; she shouldn't blame herself for this. But it was hard to convince her heart of that when she was so full of worry. Fluttershy thought back to the day she had tried to help Philomena, Princess Celestia's phoenix. After befriending the mischievous bird, Fluttershy had gone through Twilight's library for any information on phoenixes. Unfortunately, there was not much to find. Phoenixes were rare, and not many ponies had been able to study them in depth, some even saying they were only a myth. Tonight's accident showed just how little they still knew about the fiery birds. A nagging thought in Fluttershy's mind was saying that maybe if she'd learned more about phoenixes, she could have prevented this whole thing... No, she couldn't let herself dwell on that. Peewee was in trouble! Twilight and Shining Armor were looking to her, seeming to trust her to know what to do. Indeed, Fluttershy had had to search for lost animals many times before. She called on her assertiveness training and said "Twilight, I need you and Shining Armor to start sweeping along the road out of Ponyville. Stay within sight of each other, use the light from your horns to keep track. I'll fly overhead, doing the same. Peewee is a phoenix, and her feathers should give off enough light to see her even now, but she's still a baby, so she could be flying or resting on the ground. If somepony finds her, call out to the others!" As she finished with her instructions, Fluttershy had a brief moment of panic. Despite his protests, Shining Armor was still a Captain in the Royal Guard, and a Prince, even if he asked not to be treated as such. Did Fluttershy have the right to give orders to a pony like that? In a lower, less confident voice, she added "Um, if that's OK with you, Your High... uh, I mean Shining Armor..."
24. Frozen with fear, Fluttershy watched as Applejack galloped in and pulled Rainbow away from the giant... whatever it was. The part of the pegasus' mind that wanted to understand and help all animals was trying desperately to identity their foe, but was coming up with nothing. The farm pony and the weather pony galloped past her, and Fluttershy heard Applejack shout out to go to a nearby cave. Fluttershy's eyes shrank to points, and she began to protest. "B-but Applejack! Caves are dark, and scary, and cramped, and wet, and..." she sputtered. However, her rambling was cut off as another of the worms burst through the ground right in front of her. With a high-pitched scream, Fluttershy leaped to her hooves and ran after her retreating friends, her eyes clinched shut. So it was that she too ran right over the edge of the fissure in the cave. Some pegasus instinct made her open her wings as she fell, but the total darkness of the tunnel was too disorientating for her to discern up from down. She tumbled nose over tail until finally reaching the bottom with a thud. Fluttershy laid on the ground, stunned from her landing. She struggled to open her eyes, only to realize they were already open. The cave was pitch black. The pegasus began to hyperventilate, curling up into a ball of misery. Slowly though, she realized there were voices in the darkness. Applejack, Rainbow Dash, and Pinkie Pie were all there. When Rainbow produced a lantern, Fluttershy lunged into the circle of light. She grabbed the rainbow-maned mare in a fierce hug, saying "Oh thank goodness you're ok! I was so scared that that monster was going to do something terrible!" She wanted to grab all of her friends and hold on for dear life. Then, however, she realized that someone was missing. With a gasp, she shouted out "Angel!! Where is he?!?" The bunny was still been on her back during the attack, but she'd totally lost track of him during her run and the subsequent fall. A bedraggled white rabbit limped into the circle of light then. His normally pristine coat was streaked with mud and dirt, one ear flopped limply over his face, and he did not look happy about it. He approached Applejack, giving the mare a kick to one of her hooves, as if to say 'This is all YOUR fault!' Fluttershy swept the bunny into her forehooves and began hugging him was well, just as Pinkie Pie started to tremble.
