Fire Walker has escorted Twilight about in the past...Maybe AJ is supposed to do something, but considering her condition, Twi sent Fire Walker to be at her side. Aj probably won't be keen about it..Fire knows she's a hero, but probably will treat her like she's helpless and wackiness will ensue.
I need to get some sleep as I have a very big day tomorrow. Please feel free to continue this via PM. Will post something here and then it's sleep time.

No, he is having having a dialogue with his marefriend. Squall just have in-universe knowledge of their presence during the Gala and talks about them, even if he himself is nowhere nearby.
