  1. In all seriousness, I don't really care whether the FiM staff refers to royal ponies as alicorns, pegacorns, or whatever. Unless a name gets mentioned in an actual episode, there is no true canon term in my opinion. Just because the staff may internally favor "pegacorn" right now as a useful description doesn't mean that they want to make it their final-final term.
  2. What I don't understand about Rarity is why she never moved to Canterlot in the first place. She makes designs that cater mostly to their tastes, she wants to be part of their social circles; why then does she bother staying in the provincial town of Ponyville?
  3. Dr. Spin Tale was not having the best of days. Sure, paying the monthly payment on his student loans was not exactly the worst thing in the world, given that he wasn't teetering quite on the edge of bankruptcy. And yes, enough donations to the Canterlot Army Historical Society are made so that its small, free-of-charge museum, curated by the newly-graduated doctor himself, continuted to operate smoothly. Still, all it took was one accident to turn everything into chaos. A bulgary, a fire, his mother getting a crippling disability of some sort; there was always a chance that some sort of freak disaster would come along and wipe out all of his funds. While Equestrian society was usually quite forgiving towards those who couldn't afford to pay their debts, Dr. Tale's parents taught him to never take advantage of such leniency. As they saw it, if everypony felt free to freeload off the system, then nopony who lended money and such would ever be compensated for anything. Thus, nopony would lend money to anypony who needed it and economic catastrophe would result. Then again, Spin Tale's parents never attended Canterlot University, and therefore had no need to pay for a post-secondary education like their red coated, light-brown maned son did. At any rate, Dr. Tale decided that after his trip to the local post office to mail his payments, he needed something to cheer him up. Something a bit... tasty. Ordinarily, this would mean going to his usual juice bar to chug down a glass of grape juice. However, the curator lately had a craving to try a sugary dessert of some sort; it had been a couple weeks or so since he last had a confectionery. Being the thrifty earth pony that he was, Spin Tale assumed that one of the sweet shops he knew of would have some sort of sale that day. To that end, he trotted through Canterlot on a quest to find such a sweet job. It took almost half-an-hour, but the mildly-flustered doctor finally found the place he was looking for; Spin Tale found a sign outside Mr. Cocoa's shop advertising a "Buy One, Get One Free Fudge" sale. Spin Tale expected a longer line of customers at the counter than usual when he walked into the shop; sales did have a nasty habit of causing long lines, afterall. What Dr. Tale did not expect to find was not one, or two... but three nobleponies conversing and eating fudge. The curator couldn't recognize the slender, blue coated gentlecolt but there was no mistaking the other two; Prince Blueblood and his cousin the Princess Mi Amore Cadenza. Dr. Tale was elated upon recognizing Cadenza, as he had intended to attend a CRPR Open House a while back but couldn't make it due to a last-minute issue. The doctor would not waste this second chance to talk with a member of the Royal Family. Perhaps maybe the princess could even be convinced to visit the Canterlot Army Historical Society's modest gallery and spread the word to any nobles with an interest in Equestria's military history beyond the little that is taught (if any) outside of an university. Briefly pausing for a nervous moment to adjust his blue tie (he wished he took more time earlier to comb his mame), Spin Tale quickly collected his wits and cantered straight over to Mi Amore Cadenza with a small but genuine smile. "I apologize for intruding upon you, Your Highness," Spin Tale began, briefly nodding his head as a courtesy. "I am Doctor Spin Tale of the Canterlot Army Historical Society, and unfortunately I had to miss the CRPR Open House you hosted some time ago. I must say, it is a honor to finally meet you in person, Princess Mi Amore Cadenza."
  4. Question: Why are unicorns the least corny of all ponies? Answer: Because they only have one corn!
  5. I suppose I like RD's, Twilight's, and Celestia's cutie-marks the best. Trixie's reminds me of the ole' Soviet hammer & sickle.
  6. I've had some of the "classic" stuff once or twice, but having drank modern Coca-Cola for most of my life, I'll always find myself prefering that over the more older stuff.
  7. Pfft.... a transparent scheme to get comic geeks to pony up even more money, hehehe. I do approve of the covers so far, though.
  8. Hmmm..... I'll wait to actually watch a FiM episode written by Powell first before passing any judgement. She may have only worked on childrens' shows so far, but for all we know, she just might be a perfect fit for FiM. We'll just have to wait and see.

  10. Then don't feel obligated to tell and/or remind everyone you know that you like FiM then. I mean, it's not like enjoying a children's cartoon is so important to your identity that you feel that any affront towards the show is an attack on your personal character, right? Unless you are getting bullied/threatened over this issue by those who already know your broniness, it's best to just weather the friendly teases, accept the fact that they might never tolerate the show and keep your mouth shut about it in the future. PERSONAL DISCLAIMER: I have told no one I know in real life that I enjoy FiM, and I have absolutely no plans to change that anytime soon.
  11. If I was a supervillian, I'd either: 1) Become like the crime lord Jabba the Hutt and do nothing all day except chat with aliens, eat like a slob and enjoy the company of a girl dressed up in Leia's slave outfit (although knowing what happened to Jabba, I'd think twice before putting any leash on her). 2) Conquer the galaxy, become its evil Emperor and build myself a Death Star to blow up planets. Seriously, who here doesn't want a Death Star? Am I too much of a Star Wars fan?
  12. I don't mean to say that tattoos (or piercings for that matter) are wrong in any way, but the fact remains that the process of getting piercings and tattoos causes skin damage. Maybe not as much as other methods... but still. Fun fact: one of my aunts has a Cat in the Hat tattoo, on her ankle if I recall correctly. She might have another tattoo, but I'm not sure.
  13. Count me in as another chap who'd never get a tattoo. I'm in no rush to permanently mutilate my skin anytime soon.

  15. Bleh, Ponies should never be mixed with something as profane as Bioware! KILL IT WITH TEH FIRE!!! Anyway, this will neither be the first nor the last time that online fandoms whine for poor and/or stupid reasons. Heck, we lot are capable of Fan Dumb moments ourselves. In that regard, I don't regard the hate over a FiM crossover pic to be anything special.
  16. Curious, it's been quite a while since I've last played some TF2. However, trying out the update will probably have to wait til I get a new set of headphones.
  17. Well I may not have gone to the desert, but I was able to see six bright meteors and one faint one during the 1-2 hours I was outside tonight. I'd say that's a good score.
  18. I don't think the show's status quo will be changed that drastically. What if Hasbro's toy department comes up with a new toyset that doesn't include a crystallized building?
  19. According to the original file names, the Crystal Empire screencap comes from Episode 312 while the abandoned Ponyville shots are from 313. I guess we have a clue as to what will happen in the season finale, then.
  20. Good, good...... always edit your opening post, that's your Character Application afterall. I'm glad to have been of service!
  21. Greetings; I just wanted to ask you could eleborate more on Bass Rider's past and personality. How did he get his cutie mark? Why precisely did your character feel that staying in Las Pegasus would not help him further his career goals? Why is Bass stuck with stage hoof jobs when DJing is his passion, and how does he deal with this? How is his personality like now? How does Bass define good music? Oh, I also want to ask what sort of unique magic that Bass Rider can do that aids him in his DJing? Typically, unicorns only know advanced magic that relates to their line of work (making it doubtful that Bass can levitate or teleport himself). Addressing these issues will help beef up your Character Summary considerably, and it always helps to doublecheck your grammar too.
  22. My only other brief RP experience had been at a place called NationStates a few years back, where you get to RP as a fictional country.
  23. A couple of times when I was a kid, my family drove out into the middle of the desert to see the best possible view of the Perseids. The night sky in such a remote place is a wonderful sight that everyone should see at least once in their life (especially with a meteor shower). Simply turning off your house lights will not do the night sky justice if you live anywhere near a source of massive light pollution.
  24. If you want to subdivide FiM fans into different categories, I feel the did a clear enough job of doing just that.
  25. I'm sure we'll see a few of Lauren's unused ideas come back to life one day. That is, if the current writers don't run out of their own ideas first.
