Hmm, I guess I was a bit more vague than I meant to be. From a strictly writing quality standpoint I think I'm doing reasonably well, the bigger issue I'm worried about is that my posts felt like they were getting very dark very quickly. For the last few posts, I've felt relieved every time I logged the day after posting and didn't find a PM from an admin warning me about tone, and even though nothing happened the anxiety was getting to me a bit.

I don't think the tone of your posts is particularly dark. They certainly reflect the thoughts of a character who is hiding the way she is. All in all, well done.

(Belated response) Ahh, thanks. I've been worried about my post's tone for a little while now, but maybe I'm worrying over nothing.

Duskfall: The big one at the moment is 'A horror and mystery thread' in the Canterlot Chronicles OOC, though there's also a thread in the creativity forum, and it's happened a few times before now.

Well, for the CC thread, he's still gauging interesting, and ironing things out. I suspect that would take time.

In some ways that seems like the most likely option. My concern is that I may have misinterpreted something as a call for suggestions, and thus can't tell whether or not I made a mistake and disrupted things with my last post.

Nah, not nervous. I've just been wondering what to do with myself for the last few days, since the last couple threads I was in fell through.

My approach has been to work on characters while I don't have any active threads, if I can't come up with any threads myself, so that I expand my options as I wait for something to appear.

If you plan on using your OC a lot, you need a place to list all the thread they're in. ^_^

I did. I find it's a handy link, right in the sidebar, to your character's information and any other roleplays they're involved in so people can interract with you. And, who knows, you may make another character sometime.

Thank you all for your input, a few days ago I did decide to make a character log. Wasn't entirely sure what to put in there, so I just went with the essentials plus a list of threads and their statuses.

I know what you mean. Most of my newer ideas for characters would be ones that would only fit in CC, since they're more combat oriented or such.

Same. Which in some ways I'm fine with, since I take more easily to CC anyways.

I have something of a habit of thinking up the fighting mechanics first, then building a character around them.

Yeah, CC is cool. I just wish I could think of more WoE acceptable characters so I can have more than three choices there. Mine tend to be in CC because of their occupations, and since they have dangerous jobs, I have to think about how they would fight. I think the only CC character I have that has nothing to do with combat is Flux, and she's only there because I couldn't put her in WoE.

Pretty simple actually, I just run a different direction. Basically gets me to where I started, only now I'm running from TWO things.

That game is more fun than I thought it was going to be.

I know that feeling. While I ended up watching some videos first, and so knew I would like the game, it works way, way better than that concept has any right to.

Some threads I am or was contemplating joining, and maybe one I'm thinking about starting. Hard to tell sometimes whether or not I should be joining them, i.e. whether or not my character works there, if they're active or inactive and what the means for whether or not I should join, etc.

Run some rounds of Two Cities. You can actually make a decent profit at it if you play your trades right.
