Is it me or does some of the animation in the seasong five trailer look kinda ... different in someway? I can't put my hoof on it

Could be. I know that the animation for Equestria Girld Rainbow Rocks was much better than the first Equestria Girls so maybe improvements were made in a year's time.

As for the animation, there are notable difference from last season to this coming season. Seems they're putting more effort into the fluid-animation, positioning of the camera like they did with the last two episodes of season 4, and if I may add this little bit; YES! They're expanding the map of Equestria more! I always felt there were a lot of things missing out; I hope they touch on them.

The trailer sure did feel like an action move. And what is with those = cutie marks? If this is another evil threat to Equestira I wonder if anything else escaped from Tartarus. That's some Age of Mythology stuff going on there I bet.
