Sometimes it's just that people haven't gotten around to RPing. I know it takes me like a week to get around to each RP, hehe. I always find after a week or two a reminder PM is fine. It depends though, sometimes people aren't invested in the RP. Following threads and RP logs usually help. Hehe.

Eh, these things happen. I've had so many RPs die on me that I rarely care all that much for keeping threads active anymore.
