1. Nah, you know it's really for Celestia.
2. Hi there, as a member of the lore builder team, allow me to do my best to help answer your questions. Unfortunately not perfectly reliable. Much of the information is being reevaluated for the game. Everything before the Crystal Empire lore was written prior to the current lore team and procedures were introduced. A lot of it still may appear in some form, of course. We don't like to take things away from the world we have unless we deem it necessary. It should more often be about adding to the world. That said, surely not every idea ever presented for lore will be adopted. That World of Equestria thread is a good one to go off, as is brianblackberry's map. We might expand the world and the map in the future, but the existing world will undoubtedly serve as its base. UMAT is not likely to remain something we use. Some of the species there is lore for, like perytons and hippocamps, have already been declared no longer board canon; others might receive lore upgrades. Organizations and general lore topics are likely to be reevaluated, but might remain in some form. Most lore tied to specific locations, like the write ups for Stalliongrad and Garden Gait, should remain in use. Yes! We lore builders are definitely going to have a lot of exciting things to present, hopefully soon. Crystal Empire tied us up for a long time, but that's far from the end of our use. You can and may use lore to help you build your characters. By all means, that's what it's there for. Just be prepared to listen to the RP Helpers whatever they have to say. What they're telling you will always be more current than old lore you found. Hope that helps.
3. After discussing it, we have decided we have no problems with this with how you've presented it.
4. Hmm, sounds like I have a character I could maybe use for this kind of thing, provided Dr. Mellow will work with younger patients. Patient Name(s): Tourmaline Glass Reason for Therapy: Forced to attend by her parents, as she is gloomy, distant, disagreeable and doesn't get along well with others. Seriousness Level of RP desired: medium
5. Radiant Steel wasn't sure the higher brass didn't delight in tormenting her or playing with her expectations. It at least had seemed that way when she came to receive her latest assignment. It had made her do a double take, and for a number of reasons. She found herself hardly able to comprehend the words on the page as she read it over and over again: "Private due for inspection: Silver, Sterling. Time of inspection: today. Superior officer performing inspection: Steel, Radiant." This odd assortment of words struck her as odd for three reasons: One, the suddenness of it; it was uncommon she received special tasks for the very same day. Two, the words "superior officer". Being that Radiant was an enlisted soldier and not an officer, and barely past private herself, this seemed especially confusing. Third, the name of the other soldier. She knew this Sterling Silver; she had been assigned to survey him when he was a cadet just starting out on his first shift. He was a stallion not many years younger than her who seemed to lack discipline. Radiant could recall their first meeting and how she had caught him peeking into windows. It was kind of surprise to hear he hadn't yet been weeded out for bad conduct. Radiant wasn't entirely sure what to make of it. She supposed, technically now being a private first class, she did outrank him if he was an entry level private, but "superior officer" did still kind of seem like a bad joke to her. She could only assume that, as always, she was being tested here. Her report of what happened with this private Silver would be reviewed and she would be judged for it accordingly. That made her all the more serious. She had to ensure this delinquent recruit didn't drag her down to his level. She doubted there'd be another solder on the scene to survey things this time either. It all fell to her. She just had to keep her cool and do her best. She was sure she could handle it. First she had to find the recruit, which was a simple enough task for a mare who knew the Canterlot REA barracks as well as she did. The entry level privates' lockers weren't very far from Radiant's own locker. It was a very short trip before she found her way over to the recruits' lockers, and as luck would be the pony in question was standing right there with an identical document to Radiant's in his hoof. She approached him readily. "Well, cadet, it looks like we're together again," Radiant said in a stern voice as she made her approach. "I do hope you've better learned protocol and decorum since our last encounter. The REA hardly needs a soldier prone to peeping, after all," she added, recalling how being able to play a superior rank could be a rare joy.
6. ((ooc: gonna start date 3 now that I know this thread has Jane's attention. )) Date #1 "Your introduction was a little silly...but nothing wrong with being a little silly. I actually kind of liked your energy, that's a good trait with being a chef." Harlequin blushed. This stallion knew what to say. It was nice. She smiled brightly at the compliment and tried to keep from swooning obviously. Maybe this could work after all?"And it seems like your problem is you are learning from the wrong ponies. 4 star chefs in a Manehattan restaurant? Two things are telling me they are probably snooty. the 4 star and the manehattan part. I'd recommend going to culinary school before learning from some schmucks that won't listen to you." At this suggestion, Harlequin gave an awkward laugh and glanced aside.Grinning dumbly, she started to mumble. "Er, yeah... culinary school... I... kinda might have tried that." She whistled nervously and then gave another laugh. "They might have kicked me out after I made one of the instructors really sick..." she fumblingly admitted. "And a little nervous about the speed dating? I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little nervous myself. But, you are a pretty cute little mare. And a cute little mare who is going to be a chef at a 4 star restaurant is veeeery desirable.Though, When I am a chef in Equestria... I travel a lot. And go exploring and visit other places like griffonlands and the Unyasi. Hence the sword. Which is usually what I do. Or, at least, what I love to do. Though, having good chefs out there is a really, really big plus. Which is what I usually do, since a lot of the ponies out there can barely boil water." Then it was back to the praise. Harlequin giggled and rubbed the back of her head with a hoof. Gah, what was with her today? She usually had it together, but this speed dating thing was so unnerving! She almost had to slap away the silly to get herself back together. Eventually she took a deep breath and continued to nod along as the stallion spoke. Listening, she had to say this guy was really cool! She was impressed."Wow! That's really neat, cooking for ponies in places like that!" she started excitedly. "I love traveling... though personally I haven't ever travelled before. Kinda only ever been here and Manehattan," she added with another awkward laugh. "Tell me more though! What are the most awesome places you've ever been? Have you ever had to fight a dragon? What is Unyasi cuisine like?" intrigued by the other pony, Harlequin offered up a number of questions, not hiding her eagerness. Date #3 Radiant Steel nearly tripped as she left her seat. This was really beginning, wasn't it? Just what had she let herself get roped into? She desperately wanted to disappear to spare herself some torturous ordeal, but she supposed she'd have to bear with it. There was a chance it wouldn't be awful, right? Maybe...? It was just so awkward. She moved slowly toward the table for the third date and took her seat. Her date wasn't there yet, so she just slunk into place and waited. What would he be like? She tried to keep herself still and composed. She could do this. She was sure she could."Pull yourself together, Radiant. It's just a date. You can do this," she muttered to herself under her breath as she waited for her date to appear.
7. “Alexandrite! You are ever eloquent – your praise humbles me!” The lingering uncertainty of whether or not Alexa would be remembered and recognized by the ballerina was immediately dismissed. Lilac did both; moreover she moved toward the other mare and took her into an embrace. This unexpected act, combined with the other mare's beauty and the display of grace, poise and artistry she had just been a part of caused Alexandrite to stiffen up, the red of her cheeks becoming somehow brighter. She found herself unable to hug the mare back very convincingly in return, as she wasn't sure how much would be appropriate and her mind was effectively blank anyway. As Lilac stepped back to speak some more she gave an awkward laugh.“It’s my turn, then, to come and watch one of your jousts! I look forward to it – if the way you speak of your art is any indication, I know the spectacle will be inspired – breathtaking even! And might I say, that dress is very fetching! Ah, but where are my manners? Introductions are in order. This is Alexandrite Tilt, a fine member of the Crystal Guard and a jouster. And Alexandrite, this is Hoity Toity of Canterlot and – oh! Oh my sir, I’m afraid I don’t know your name! I suppose we should have introduced each other first, hm?” This string of words made Alexa feel even more like a dumb schoolfilly. Lilac expressing a wish to see her joust all the while paying her compliments on her appearance? It was enough to elicit another vacant giggle before Alexandrite forced herself to recover. Stepping forward then she bowed her head in turn to the stallions."Well met, all," she said. Bowing her head then to Lilac, she continued. "I thank you for your kindness, as much as I question how this manner of dress truly suits me." She smiled weakly and gave a nod. "And it would be upmost delight to perform for you some time. My only hope is that you might find a fraction of the inspiration from a joust as I have from your performance today." It was at this point that Alexandrite, not entirely sure what to do with herself, made some less than opportune steps. She of course didn't even notice as the shoes she wore, awful things that she could hardly walk in, snagged on the fabric of some other pony's dress. She was soon, however, made very much aware. “Excusez-moi, If I may borrow you for a moment, miss, your shoe seems to have taken interest in my dress...” Alexandrite froze up. She was just about to embarrass herself in front of this mare she had come to admire, was she not? The thought was maddening. She truly was so very out of her element. She should have known better than to try this. A faux pas such as this was inevitable. She needed to act quickly or else the situation was bout to get out of hoof. She calmed herself as best she could and opened her mouth to force out an apology...“Excuse me, ma’am, but allow me! I simply cannot stand idly by when such a lovely ensemble is threatened with a hitch or a stain!” Before the crystal mare could even mumble out a word, the fancy dressed stallion Lilac had identified as Hoity Toity sprung into immediate action. He spared the other mare's dress from any form of ruin Alexandrite's clumsy hooves could have brought upon it, but left Alexa feeling even more awkward. She took several steps backwards upon being free, making sure to not snap any more dresses upon her shoes as she did so, but the stallion stayed focused on her.“My name is Hoity Toity. The distinguished Equestrian fashion authority and owner of Bouclé Boutique. Charmed to meet you all. And if I may, Ms. Tilt, while lovely, I would recommend an ensemble more similar to what is familiar to you. Stiff, strong fabrics with defined sculptural tailoring wear much more like the heavy armour you are no doubt used to sporting. A smart look like that with sharp lines and sturdy materials would be much more suited to your own cleverness with words and your familiarity with armour.” Alexandrite might have been the first to admit she felt awkward dressed as she were, but that didn't mean that the words this stallion spoke to her--and the way he emphasized them--didn't sting deeply. She might have traded many of the feminine pursuits that typified a lady in for her armor and lance, but she was still a mare. She had worked hard to make herself presentable that evening. To hear this pony she didn't know judge it all as being not enough made her feel small. It might have wrecked even her sturdy composure had she not had the compliment Lilac had paid her dress to hold onto still. All the same, these outsiders really could be far too brash. Alexa's pride wouldn't allow to hold her tongue."I do thank you, sir, for the counsel, however it remains my prerogative to dress myself as I do please," Alexandrite spoke, masking her irritation with eloquence as appropriate. "And I would attest that my armor does hardly need define me as a mare." The jouster took this opportunity to then turn to the mare she had gotten entangled with. She bowed her head to her and spoke politely as she could, "I do apologize, miss. I will do well to ensure my hooves find sounder steps." “It’s a pleasure to meet all of you. I’m Dr. Merlot; one of Equestria's top minds in the field of archaeology. Forgive me if I’m wrong Ms. Tilt, but did we met earlier this week?” Through the whole ordeal, Alexandrite had nearly forgotten there was another stallion gathered there to mingle. At this introduction, her eyes went to him. She wasn't sure what to make of this other outsider thus far, but she nodded politely at his introduction. His inquiry made her think however. She certainly couldn't recall seeing him prior, though perhaps she had. She tilted her head aside and spoke, "Well met, sir, but I'm afraid if that is so I cannot recall the event. I am frequently posted at a number of key locales through the empire, however, so I'll admit it is very possible that you may have seen me at my duty if you have been a guest of our empire this past week."
8. Guess I can put up yet another one then! Looking for: Serendipity's unnamed younger brother. 10 words or less: pegasus; not as "free-spirited" as his sister. (for this one, don't even really have a preference on age or anything; details are up to the applicant)
9. Personally, I say the more options present the better.
10. For the log, make sure you're only inputing the unique section of the url (for you, it'd be: 15281-gbss-log). Do not enter the full url. For the character names, make sure you're just entering the names, no profile links or code or anything like that.
11. Woo! Updated my character log for the first time in months. Lots of work, but now it even has image/banner type things. :D

13. Hmm, haven't seen the film yet, but bringing them into a high school setting seems an interesting exercise. Let's see... Pegasi: Radiant Steel - she'd be an exceedingly fastidious student; probably a part of a student council or something of that fashion. No one would take her very seriously, despite the authority she believes she has. Puts in enough effort to keep her grades high. Hopesong - a cute, upbeat younger student. More interested in friends and mild mischief than studies. English would be her best subject; math her worst. Snowfall - she'd be the beautiful, cool rich girl and model student admired by male and female students alike. She would have fans flocking around her, but not much stock into any of it, focusing instead on an unlikely love. Damask Luster - he'd be a quiet but popular student. His good looks and talents for poetry and music win him a lot of female fans, who he's too shy to approach. Would slack off on his studies some. Serendipity - she would be a total oddball hipster student. Popular for her good looks and trend setting fashion, but still generally considered unusual. A surprisingly good student all around, who seems to do well without giving much visible effort. Crystal Snowflake - she'd have to be a teacher given her age; probably would teach English. She'd be the stern, no nonsense unapproachable teacher that no one would want. Earth ponies: Lady Luck - she'd probably be something of a good natured slacker student. Frequently truant and difficult, but actually quite smart and crafty. She'd be exceptional at coming up with working excuses to get out of everything. Midnight Brand - another older mare, so she too would be a teacher; probably of history, who also coaches one of the girls' sports teams. She'd be the cool teacher who is kind of scary sometimes. Popular with male students for her good looks. Ardent Fate - a younger student and a poor one at that. More content to daydream and spend her time lost in fantasy games and comics than she is to actually learn. most around her would find her very weird. Starless Shroud - a shifty delinquent student. Has visible contempt for the school but sucks up to the teachers to get out of real trouble. Despite it all would be good at History and Theatre. Harlequin Salad - she'd be a somewhat nerdy student, but considered fun enough to not be unpopular. Watches a lot of cooking shows and tries to get her friends to sample what she makes, something they're not very eager to ever do. Not a great student academics wise. Unicorns: Spirit Flame - she'd be a very unapproachable young student. Very quiet and focused on academics, but not because she doesn't like being around others as much as she doesn't know how to be social. Excels at science and math but is quite poor at other subjects. Dazzle Dawn - a friendly student, well liked for her cheerful attitude and good humor, but not especially popular. Tries really hard but is a poor student, having to cram constantly just to keep up. Arcana - a cold, haughty student without many friends. Somewhat pretentious and curtly mannered, but among the smartest at the school and quick to flaunt it to any who question her. Most avoid her. Steel Dagger - a handsome, very popular student who enjoys toying with the female students' hearts. Good at both sports and academics, his best subjects being History and Math. A lot of other male students resent him. Gray Lexis - he'd be a science teacher, and a fun, popular one. Highly unpredictable, and prone to get off topic in his lectures, but very invested in his students and eager to help them succeed. Crystal ponies: Alexandrite Tilt - a very poised star athlete, as good in academics as she is in sports. Popular with the female students, though a touch shy. Exceedingly good at History and English. Tourmaline Glass - a pretentious and gloomy emo/goth student. Distances herself from others purposefully. Smart but only really applies herself in English class. Non-ponies: Verity Essence - a cool gamer girl student. Has mostly male friends but doesn't seem to mind. Popular, but considered hard to approach. Good at science and math but lousy at History. Sierra (assuming she's not a dog... ) - she'd be a fairly ordinary student who doesn't stand out too much. A member of the track team and more focused on that and on her daydreams than her studies. History is her best subject. Vivid Flair - a nerdy student with an eccentric, off-kilter attitude. Very into games, comics, sci fi and fantasy. Considered by most to be weird. A model student all around, but exemplary at science and math. Insara - she'd probably be a drama teacher; considered somewhat odd, but has a generally fun approach and enjoys occasionally messing with her students in playful ways. Tries to be encouraging.
14. Hmm... flight school threads have been proposed before a few times and never really taken off, so to speak. That said, I'm more than willing to try again. Sounds like it'd be a fun place to use Hopesong.
15. Date #1 "Sorry....I don't think I can top that. My lady..." Harlequin studied the stallion's response. He seemed naturally taken aback, but not in a bad way necessarily. He laughed at her, but not uproariously and not in a way that told her she was uncomfortable either. Considering how dumb and silly she was being, it wasn't a bad reaction. His words seemed to indicate that he was slightly at a loss, but mostly humored. Despite all odds, Harlequin wondered if her ploy hadn't somehow worked for her. For once, she was feeling optimistic about this..."My name is Dunder Blust. You are a chef? I am one too. As you can see." And then Harlequin's spirit fell considerably. Wha?! He was a chef too? But that was... that was scary. Sure it meant he was another who burned with the passionate fire of cuisine... but considering her own culinary pursuits were declared by most who knew her to be disastrous it almost surely meant he was better than her. Moreover, if he truly knew food, that meant he was even more likely to find fault with her little experiments. Then again, maybe he could help her learn and realize her dream! But at the same time... maybe he'd just say she was a lost cause. As she looked at the mark on the stallion's flank, she smiled somewhat nervously, increasingly unsure about the date now."Wow, really? That's... uh... a fun coincidence!" she started, keeping her smile plastered on. "And what is your name, aspiring chef?" She gave a nod. She had given her name in her silly little intro, but she supposed it'd be easy to miss in all the bombast. It was a lot to take in after all. "Harlequin Salad, at your service!" she started with a goofy smile and a salute. She eased up then and gave a laugh. What now? This was a speed date, so there wasn't too much time to linger. Acting shy wasn't the way to get anywhere either! She supposed it was only natural to tell him a little about herself. Considering he was a chef himself, it probably wouldn't get her anywhere to lie about her career either. Perhaps it'd be a big swing in the other direction from her theatric introduction, but being earnest now seemed right. "That was a pretty silly thing to do, but it got your attention, didn't it?!" she started with a full laugh. "Anyway, it's not entirely correct to say I'm a chef... not yet, but you know I really want to be, like more than anything! My skills are... just... well a little unrefined at the moment, but I'm trying to learn. I'm currently working as a waitress at a really fancy four star restaurant in Manehattan and trying to learn from the cooks on the side... which is hard since they're not exactly encouraging." "I'm rambling, aren't I?" Harlequin said, shaking her head and giving a vacant laugh. "I've never done this whole speed dating thing before..."
16. ((ooc: hope you don't mind me speeding through the actual play; didn't seem like there'd be much opportunity for actual RP in that )) “You have no reason to do so Mrs. Snowflake. Anypony incapable or unwilling to treat whoever they desire to see has frankly no right at all to partake in the world of romance.” Crystal smirked at the stallion's response. Dr. Merlot really was a gentleman through and through. It was certainly easy to be charmed in his presence. The mare would have delighted in a chance to speak further with him, but the dimming of the lights told her the time had come for the show to start. The mare's eyes turned toward the stage. She had been so caught up in her date she had almost forgotten about the show. The theatre truly was an exciting thing, and oh how she hoped this performance would be a rewarding one.The play had soon started. A Midnight Summer's Dream was a comedy from the early modern era of Equestrian theatre. A comedy and romance, it told the story of Princess Midnight Summer, the spirited yet naïve daughter of the Winter Queen, ruler of the flutter ponies. Dissatisfied with the marriage arranged for her by her mother to the silver-tongued changeling Duke Tempest, Midnight runs away from home the night before her wedding. She soon meets the eccentric pegasus "Sir" Reverie, a hapless but well meaning fool masquerading as a valiant knight despite being in truth penniless vagabond. Believing his lines about being a brave knight, Midnight enlists Reverie's aid in trying to escape her mother's domain. Reverie, understanding his limitations but finding the princess beautiful and believing that aiding her will see him rewarded with riches beyond his imagination, agrees. The Queen enlists the Duke to use whatever means he has available to win back his would be bride, and so he attempts to stop the two with a number of challenges and hazards, each of which Reverie, despite his clear ineptitude, by complete chance somehow surmounts, winning more of the princess' favour at each turn. Through it all, the two come to fall in love, Reverie enticed by the princess' beauty and spirit while Midnight comes to love the stallion's conviction and unusual charm. Just as they both come to realize the depth of their feelings, they are finally confronted by the Duke himself. A sword duel reveals Reverie's facade to the princess, showing his clear lack of refinement, but as the victorious Duke tries to convince her to come back with him the Princess decides to stick with Reverie, knowing that despite the truth he is the one she loves. The queen appears then and confronts her daughter about her choice, telling her to abandon her foolish pursuits and come back to her, even going so far as to cancel the marriage to the Duke, but even then Midnight refuses, choosing instead to stand by the stallion she loves. Seeing her daughter's choice, the princess is stripped of her title and her wings and is exiled from the flutter forest, but is free to be with the one she loves, though neither has a bit to their name. It was a simple and altogether rather silly little story. It had never exactly been a favorite of Crystal, who tended to prefer the more dramatic and tragic works of the same period to the more farcical ones. All the same, she supposed the piece did have its charms, and well acted it could be enjoyable. This particular production was quite solid. There were a few slip ups, a few moments of stiff delivery, one or two obviously flubbed lines-- all of which she was quick to point out to Merlot through critical quipping-- but all together the company put on a good show. Their Midnight Summer had the right spirit for the role, at times reminding Crystal of her own over-zealous daughter. Reverie was also suitably dense and loutish, stumbling about the stage as was called for. The antagonists left a little something to be desired however, especially the Queen, who seemed all wrong, lacking the conviction and bite she had always associated with the role. All that said, with the first rate costume and sets, on the whole the show was hard to argue with. Crystal was eager, however, to hear the opinions of her cultured doctor. As the cast bowed their final bow and the curtain closed, she turned to her date. "I have to commend the Canterlot Royal Theatre for a suitable night's entertainment. They made the most of even a lesser work like this, I'd say," she said nodding. "What say our Dr. Merlot?"
17. "Yep my mommy is also a fashion designer. I love fashion as much as Razor loves racing and flying. And yeah I know my big brother as much as he knows himself." "You don't say?" Rarity started, somewhat surprised to hear this. "Would I know her from any of the big fashion magazines? Well... perhaps not if she's mostly known in Aquelia. All the same, a big part of this job is keeping one eye toward one's peers at any given time."The mare gave a stiff nod as she considered it. "Actually, I have to say I am most curious. I don't know very much at all when it comes to Aquelian fashion. It could prove rewarding to investigate!" "Hmmm. Well I know Razor will want to have his wings free. Heh, last time he felt his wings being bound he went crazy and slashed up several dresses mommy had been making. Oh boy she had been mad." "Mad....is not the word to use...." Rarity shook at the thought. There was little worse for an artist than to have her art needlessly destroyed. She could definitely sympathize with the mother of these two. It brought to her mind vivid memories of Sweetie getting out of hoof. She'd definitely have to keep it in mind and make sure she did her best to please this customer. She didn't want any temperamental griffons wrecking her wares. Hopefully the sister would help her rein him in and not goad him too hard. She was going to put her faith in her customers for now; hopefully it didn't prove to be a mistake."Oh it wasn't that bad. But try to avoid damaging anything Miss Rarity has here. That would be very mean. Now, I think something that matches your feathers in colour. Do you have anything like that Miss Rarity? Hmmm, something like a coat to go around his chest. It shouldn't restrict his wings, so if we want something on his back perhaps a cloak. Maybe we can also design his feathers on his head to give them better style." Rarity nodded at all the suggestions from the younger griffon. Glimmer had a real knack for fashion given her age. Rarity liked what she was hearing at least. She offered a smile in return."Excellent suggestions, darling," she said with a nod. "I have fabric in all sorts of colours, and if I don't have it I know where to get it." The mare moved aside to her fabric store then and rolled out a long roll of bluish-gray fabric that matched the male griffon's feathers in colour almost perfectly. "Does this look about right?" She rolled out a second fabric then, this one a similar colour but rather than matching his feathers exactly was a few tones darker in colour. "Or perhaps it should be a little darker for flair?" "A coat with room for the wings is no trouble; I've done many such pieces for more fashionable pegasus stallions," Rarity started, continuing to consider the suggestions. "As for a cloak, I could definitely do that. I once studied historical fashion for a quite successful line of ruffled taffeta capes... and while I doubt your brother here would want that sort of thing exactly, in the process I believe I learned quite a bit about capes and cloaks. It would be no trouble." "Nor would styling his feathers, of course," she added with a final nod. "I can do it all!" "What got you into fashion anyway?" Razor's question made Rarity smile slightly. She knew from experience that for the not so fashion minded, the idea of pursuing such a career was not a very welcoming one. It must be baffling to some why exactly she elected to be a fashionista, while to her it was just second nature. She gave a polite nod to the griffon and then a small laugh."Well... much like your sister, I think I'd say a lot of it traces back to the parents... except not quite the same way in my case," Rarity said with slight embarrassment. "You see... my parents, wonderful as they are, are quite far from the most fashionable of ponies. As a very young foal, I suppose I was all too conscious of that, and just felt I wanted something different. The young me dreamed about being swept off my feet by some handsome prince to Canterlot to live a life of class and luxury, and I think it was in how deeply I regarded that ideal that I began to get interested in popular fashion like that seen in Canterlot..." Rarity shook her head and gave another laugh. "Of course, I had no confidence at it at all at first. It wasn't until the day I finally got my cutie mark that I was first happy with something I made. After that, I found my confidence and recognizing it ponies all around started to encourage me. Eventually, with lots of work, that brought me here," the mare concluded, sighing softly as she reminisced.
18. heh. working on a post for that one now actually. Sorry for making you wait again.
19. “The uniform? Oh, this – isn’t it terrible? I do so dislike it. Give me armor any day; you know, I’ve never really been one for the pomp and ceremony of the army, and probably wouldn’t have bothered with tonight if you hadn’t agreed to come along.” Sierra gave a chuckle at the response. It was exactly the sort of thing she'd expect her darling brother to say. He had always been humble stallion, and the sort to be most comfortable standing proud in the armor of the guard. It was a relief to see he wasn't one to change needlessly. All the same, he really did look cool and dignified in his uniform. She was positive that were he to hit the dance floor at this ball, the mares wouldn't hesitate to queue up for a dance. She'd have to tease him more about it later.“However, may I say that you look absolutely stunning in that cape, Sierra? It suits you perfectly!” "Well, figured I gotta wear something... and there isn't much that suits us dragons," she responded to the compliment with a laugh. "Thanks though. I'm gonna stand out, so it is better if I look good..." she added kind of shyly. She really wasn't one for this kind of thing. Crowds had a tendency of making her self-conscious. Big crowds could even make her anxious. She really hadn't been sure about coming to the ball at first, but a chance to see Hammer again was worth any discomfort. “So tell me sister, where have your adventures been taking you lately? I hear you’ve been travelling all over the wide, known world! It’s so strange to be back in Canterlot after gallivanting all over the place, isn’t it?” The dragoness smiled at this question. She enjoyed discussing her travels. Really, exploring the world, seeing different sites, that was her element. Hammer of course knew this, which was probably why he was so quick to ask her about it all. She gave a sharp nod before opening her mouth."Well, it wasn't too long ago that I got back from a voyage of many months down to Unyasi, if you can believe it. Such an exotic and lively land that is! We saw so many new things there. Quite the experience," she said, nodding some more. This particular had been her first time in Unyasi, and had left her with a lot interesting memories, especially since it had happened with such an interesting and varied crew. "Other than that, I've mostly been called upon for the usual sorts of excursions. Everfree, the badlands, the swamplands in Aquelia. I'm still the dragon to call on for anypony wanting to trek through any of Equestria's rougher spots," she continued, giving it some thought. There wasn't as much recently quite as memorable as Unyasi, though her excursions were almost always fun. "I have a few Arctic excursions coming up; that area has become a lot more popular what with that Crystal Empire that's apparently up there now." She gave a small laugh and a sigh. "I haven't been down toward Canterlot in I don't know how long. These days I don't even tend to spend very much time at home in Breakbeak before I have some other trip to leave on," she added.
20. "Well, we have enough paint and enough paper, why don't we do both? We can draw each other, and do some cooperative hoof-painting. Be a fun way to get dirty, hopefully without making too big of a mess of the house," “Woo-hoooo! I’ll fetch what we need now, but it’ll get messy. Please catch anything that accidently falls, okie dokie?” Dazzle smiled. It sounded like the plan was set! She had to say it seemed like it would be fun too. Painting with friends had to be great. "You got it, Dancer!" Dazzle started with a dumb smile and a little salute. She took up position behind the mare as she received the hoofpaint jars and did her best to catch everything she dropped, running from side to side as she did. Dancer was dropping lots of things though, and soon it became too much. Dazzle couldn't get to ever single pencil, pen, ink bottle, brush, and miscellaneous something that came shooting out her way. She did her best to try though, and soon had a huge stack gathered with her magic... that was, until she happened to trip over a large eraser and fall over on her face, dropping everything all around her in the process. “Alright... unless anypony objects, I say that Icy should paint me, I paint Dazzle, and Dazzle paints Icy. Does that sound good to you?” Dancer spoke again as she retrieved the hoofpaints finally."Sounds... uh... good to me..." Dazzle muttered, still on the ground, surrounded by assorted ends.
21. ((ooc: opening with a brief Serendipity post, just to respond to interaction) "Don't you look confident," At these words, Serendipity's eyes traced their way to a nearby mare. She was a blue pegasus with a curly mane. The lavender mare had to say she wasn't at all bad to look at. She had the right sort of look in her eyes. Looking at her made Seren wonder just how this event was gonna work. She wouldn't mind getting to know a mare like this one a little better."Well take a long look, cutie. You'll notice that a mare of my caliber has every reason for confidence," the mare said with a flirty giggle. "Besides. What reason is there to really fret over anything?" the mare added after a pause, smirking. "Moments spent worrying are moments a mare could spend enjoying herself instead." Date #1 Harlequin was kinda surprised to hear her number called for the very first date. It took her aback and made her somewhat nervous. She was generally a fairly easygoing mare, but she really just didn't have a lot of experience with the whole dating thing... or at least not successful experience. When her eyes found the stallion who she had evidently been paired with, she just got all the more nervous. He was a handsome brown pegasus with a strong build. He also had a sword at his side for some reason. Whoa! That was different. Was he REA or just some weirdo? it was hard to say, but she had to say he looked pretty cool. How was she, some mop-headed splotched coat scatterbrained earth mare supposed to impress a guy like this one?She needed to make a good first impression. Part of her considered going up to him and introducing herself in a quiet and earnest fashion. This was speed dating though, so that simply wouldn't do! She needed to make her impression and she needed to make it big and immediate. Just as she did when trying to get the attention of a crowd she wanted to sample her foods, she needed to go as big as possible. She was selling this pony on her after all, so why not employ all of her theatrics? Sure, he'd likely just think she was insane; a lot of ponies did. Wasn't that better then being forgettable though? Harlequin stood suddenly atop her barstool and then leapt toward the stallion, landing somewhat clumsily on her back hooves. She gave a showy, ridiculous pose and then a single stiff nod. "Behold! Carried home to Fillydelphia on the Manhattan breeze, prodigious visionary of the culinary arts, celebrity chef extraordinaire of the not too distant future... She is, number ten, Harlequin Salad, and here on this fateful day she does make her destined stand before you!" the mare announced loudly and dramatically before finding her way back onto all four hooves. "It is my great honor, good sir!" she added with another nod and a dumb smile.
22. Gilda was still wondering what exactly she had gotten herself wrapped up in. Desperation had pushed her to sign up on this mysterious quest to take some black opal from a pack of slobbering mutts. It didn't sound particularly difficult. No, as far as tasks went this sounded like one Gilda could accomplish in her sleep. The hard part here was the fact that she had to flock with a bunch of featherbrains as they went after the blasted thing. Whoever wanted this thing had gotten the bright idea to hire a pack of griffons to grab it. Gilda wasn't entirely sure why so many squawkers were needed for something that seemed to simple, or really anything about the one who had hired them all. All she did know is that being a team player wasn't exactly her style. She didn't have a lot of good things to say about this particular team either. The de facto leader of the team was some nurse named Heidi. She had a very anti-fun, group nanny attitude going that could be quite grating. The rest of the band could be just as irritating; one, Falco, was an aged ex-marine convinced he deserved her respect for it, another, Razor was a complete hothead. Then there was Miasma, who seemed to act like she knew all and was just hot stuff. Rounding them out was Zelda, a griffon with and odd sense of style and a fairly standard good guy attitude. The train ride, needless to say, had not been a lot of fun. And now Gilda had to spend even more time this lot. She could preemptively feel the headache it was going to give her. "Alright everyone! We're here. Remember, if any Diamond Dogs ask what we're doing here tell them we're on vacation. It may look suspicious, but we can't let them find out that we're trying to take the Black Opal home with us." Heidi spoke as they reached the train station. Gilda sighed as she looked out across the wide spanning Painted Pinto Desert. Traversing this on the way toward Gaberott wasn't going to be a lot of fun. "I know these dogs are supposed to be stupid, but I can't see anyone believing any self-respecting intelligent creature would visit this wasteland on vacation," Gilda scoffed, rolling her eyes. "Then again, they do live out here for some reason, so who knows," she added with a small shrug.
