I could understand if it was something like porn but getting kicked out of the house because of MLP? Seriously? I've heard of some moms or dads at least grounding the kids for life but kicking them out of the house? Wow...

To be honest, with parents like that I think I'd rather be out of the house than in it... >.>

That's terrible.

There's only one thing that always causes these to happen, and that's lack of communication.

Once there's a lack of communication, there's room for speculation. After that comes misconception and misunderstanding. With misunderstanding, there's disagreement. When there is disagreement in the house, there's going to be friction all the time. That's when things get heated up and ugly.

It's really sad these things happen. That's why we should all learn to keep good communication between our family and friends, so that we could all learn to find a beauty in differences, rather than find differences some sort of a burden.

I would believe it, but it's this comment that makes me hesitant.

it actually isn't illegal, the police say that "it's her house and i have to abide by her rules, and she can do any means outside of child abuse" or something along those lines at least

No honest police officer would say that, and of course throwing a 15 year old kid out is illegal.

I've been active at my university's gay-straight alliance, and there are people there who were kicked out when they were underage (either permanently or just for a few months). A couple were disowned. My cousin moved out of my aunt's house when she was seventeen because her mother kept sending her her to religious counseling after she came out.

So it's possible, and considering the whole "boys liking girly things is SHAMEFUL" attitude that most people are so well-trained to believe, his parents might have equated "likes girly ponies" with "he is a homosexual/pervert" (and, for some folks, those might as well be the same thing).

But, yeah, I don't know if I swallow the idea of the police saying she's within her rights to kick him out, assuming that's what was said. But I'm not sure of the legality of the situation.

Last I checked, it's kind of illegal to just kick a minor out of their home like that. I really feel sorry for the poor brony if this actually did happen.

Right, it is illegal to kick out a minor unless they are "legally" an adult. I assume that the kid has not been emancipated (made a legal adult through the court) and since he is under 18, he is not a "legal" adult.

Nevertheless, I do not feel this is a legitimate story.

From what some users on Ponibooru said, this is a copy pasta of a different "supposedly made-up" story (except the subject matter is the parent finding out their child is gay).

That being said, I don't know if this story is actually true or not.

Given the nature of the Internet I would take this story with a large grain of salt unless it can be verified. I can easily see such a story generated from rumors and hear-say to just someone plain making it up, so be careful about assuming any of it is true.

While I still think this is not real, the fact that people would do stuff like this is irritating. This is beyond MLP.

Why do must we make other's lives miserable just because they believe something else, or have different preferences. Are we that insecure about ourselves? Sometimes humanity just astounds me in the way that it can bring itself down so low. Stuff like this is definitely what contributes to that. It's your own flesh and blood, for crying out loud. At the very least leave them alone.
