Winter Wrap Up: Weather Team

Before she had time to answer any of the questions that had been posed to her Princess Twilight was on the scene. So much was happening it was hard for Rainbow to keep up with all of it! At least the pony who had fallen into the lake was going to be ok. What else could happen?

Hey, we have a weather emergency! There's a freak storm cloud rolling in from the everfree! Anypony who knows what to do needs to break away and help clear it out before it gets worse!

She had to ask... Rainbow Dash groaned and put a hoof to her head. "Wow, this is turning out to be way more than your everyday Winter Wrap Up..." She turned to her crew and called for them to rally around her as best they could. "Hey! Everypony, get over her quick! There's a big storm coming and we have to stop it! Don't even think about coming along unless you're trained to handle this kind of situation. Those who come, be warned it's gonna be dangerous. If you stay here you can continue wrapping up for now. Get ready because if the storm gets through this way you're going to have a lot more to deal with than usual!"

The sky blue pegasus hovered, looking over her team. She would let them decide who was coming and who was staying. All except her new little friend. "Wind Walker I want you to stay here and look after things ok?"

She flew up a little higher. "The rest of you, decide what you're doing and make it happen. Cloudchaser, I need you with me. Who wants to stay here and make sure things are ready in the event that this storm gets out of control?" She looked over the group, wondering who could take up that kind of responsibility and handle it.

Rainbow was a little unnerved at the appearance of Lightening Dust but there was no time to deal with that right now.

Professor Krashkop was kicking clouds to clear them out when he saw Princess Twilight Sparkle appear and explain about the weather emergency.

"ACK! UNEEMAL!" the elderly Pegasus stallion shouted out, "I vill be happy to assist, Princess! After all, I am quite experienced in dis sort of ting!"

Flying up to Twilight Sparkle and saluting her with his front hoof, the Professor turned to fly towards the Everfree Forest. Immediately, the elderly Pegasus stallion could see the danger.

"Dat looks like some nasty thunderclouds up ahead! Could be some very strong vinds coming vith dat storm system und plenty of lightning as vell. Dere is only vone vhy to tackle dees clouds, und dat is to go head on! HERE I GO!"

The Professor dives straight into the heart of the black cloud formations, flying in a 'serpentine' pattern to avoid the bolts of lightning that came in his direction until he plowed head first into the first row of clouds to break them up. Though he managed to break up one large black cloud, others were waiting, too many to dodge so the gray maned Pegasus was soon struck with several bright bolts of lightning. Fortunately for him, all of his decades of 'crash landings' had made him quite used to the pain, though he was now descending from the sky, smoke coming from his singed pelt and wing tips as he made a 'crash landing' on a white cloud far below the weather system.

"Dere! Dat vasn't so bad, vas it?" the dazed Professor asked, his eyes rolling around in his head and barely able to stand up on the cloud as his electricity filled body flashed on and off like a neon light in a sign, more smoke rising from his staggering stallion body. His 'frontal attack' on the storm was NOT a very smart move on the Professor's part.

Sky had to pause a moment before he got his bearings. "F-fine," he replied. "I almost lost one, but he didn't get too far," Sky glanced towards where he had last seen the small creature. After finding him, he also noticed that Flash wasn't at his usual spot. Sky surveyed the area and saw that he wasn't anywhere around the flock either.

After a few seconds of searching, Sky saw a commotion in a tree that wasn't too far away. "Um, I'm gonna check something out real fast. Think you'll be fine here for a bit?" Without waiting for an answer, he flew towards the tree, shouting "Thanks!" as he flew.

"Huh. Da guys's either really focused on his job or he's not da social type" Thought mistral as Sky flare rather quickly left her by her lonesome. So far the birds were coming on schedule but there was something that made Mistral worry. Namely the large clouds that were accumulating nearby, it almost looked like a storm. As far as she knew there were no storms scheduled today so this was very suspicious, looking to her teammates she yelled to them loud enough for them to hear but not loud enough to scare the birds off,"You guys keep up the good work... I'll be back in a flash. there's somethin' i gotta look into." The moment she finished telling her team she zoomed off towards the rest of the weather team in time to hear Rainbow Dash address the rest of the team.

And here was Mistral hoping for a peaceful wrap up, just her luck that some weird storm would come in. Well, she had weather handling experience as a freelance weatherpony and knew how to clean up the skies in a flash so hopefully that was enough to qualify her to join in stopping this problem. "I'll help out. Those two back there seem to have the bird situation in hoof." she said flying forward to Rainbow dash and pausing as she saw one pegasus flying into the storm and then plummet to the ground with electricity still coming off of him,"I'll go check on dat guy." she said before flying to the white cloud Krashkop was standing on,"You okay, pal?"

A freak Everfree storm dared to ruin Winter Wrap Up? Couldn’t the Everfree Forest be any less inconsiderate? Did the Weather Team really have to do storm-breaking work today? But what really struck Derpy’s interest was Rainbow Dash appointing a little filly name Wind Walker to remain behind to look after those who chose to stick with Winter Wrap Up duty. Derpy felt bad for the kid, being asked at such a young age to follow in an idol’s hoofsteps and take charge. Felt like a scene right out of a fantasy book.

Concerned for the filly in charge, Derpy Hooves flew up to her boss with a vital request; “Hey Rainbow, if that kid’s leading the wrapping up crew now, can I be her... uhhhhh... what’s it called again?” Miss Hooves rested a hoof on her chin; wasn’t that word called ‘regal’ something-something blah blah, AHAH! “Oh yeah, regent! Since Wind Walker’s still a bit young, I should be her mentor so she learns about leading our WWU team. Don’t you agree?”

Upon hearing several ponies singing different tunes, Raven looked over from the cloud she was about to pounce. It sure seemed to pass the time. Before she could continue, Rainbow Dash announced a big storm coming, one that threatened ponies participating in the event. Raven knew she was barely able to attack a simple snow cloud, let alone a huge storm one.

"I'll stay here and get rid of some of these clouds, and in case you need me," she said to the rainbow manned Pegasus before launching at a large cloud mass with talons out, smashing it to pieces.

Twilight let out a sigh of relief as she saw her friend had the situation under control, she just hoped nopony would get hurt... well besides herself - that lightning stung! "Thanks, Rainbow!" she called out "Is there anything I can do to help?" she paused "Preferably something that doesn't involve getting struck by lightning anymore today" she smiled a sheepish smile. She felt a little bad that she wasn't going with them, but the char marks on her flank could attest to her best efforts being... less than successful... Though she was still eager to help if there was anything she could do!

The still blinking gray maned Pegasus stallion looked up and saw Sky Flare and listened to her question.

"I am very vell, danka fraulien," Professor Krashkop said as he slowly got back up on his four hooves. "Dis isn't dee first time I've been struck by lightning, or shocked by electricity for dat manner. Back in mein teaching days at Canterlot University, I vonce blew up mein lab und glowed like dis for over a veek! Vonce you've been shocked like dis a hundred or so times, you get used to it. Anyvay, fraulien, you are very kind for checking on me. Do you have any ideas for stopping dis big thunderstorm? I don't tink dee direct approach vill vork in dis case."

"Hey professor! Wait!"

Rainbow clapped a hoof to her head as the professor flew out by himself into the storm front. There was no way he would be able to handle the situation alone. "We need to work together on this!" Her words were not heard by the professor and soon he had been struck by several bolts of lightening.

"I'll help out. Those two back there seem to have the bird situation in hoof."

Thankfully he was ok and another pony was there to assist him in getting back to the group.

“Oh yeah, regent! Since Wind Walker’s still a bit young, I should be her mentor so she learns about leading our WWU team. Don’t you agree?”

"Uhhhhh, sure Derpy. It would be great if you could help Wind Walker out." Rainbow tried to smile at the grey mare before turning to Twilight.

"Preferably something that doesn't involve getting struck by lightning anymore today"

"Thanks for the offer Twilight. If you wouldn't mind watching after Derpy while she's watching Wind Walker that would be great. Basically if you can just use your organizational skills here to keep things under control that would be awesome." Rainbow's eyes were on the storm as it got closer and closer. "Ok, if you're coming to help with the a storm form up now! We gotta go stop it before it hits Ponyville!"

She glanced at the professor, noting that he was singed but didn't appear too badly injured. "Let's try to do this together this time ok professor?"

Wind Walker was enjoying her little Winter-Wrap-Up training, but like all good things, her lessons had quickly come to an end. While the little filly was hardly a fan of Princess Twilight, she still did a quick and very polite mid-air bow as the purple mare approached. The good princess came baring bad news about an wild storm in the Everfree. Her ears perked up as Twilight asked for volunteers to help break up the wacky weather. However, she was neither fully trained, and not an expert, thus she would just get in the way. While feeling pretty down about her limited skills, she was quickly perked right up when Rainbow ordered her to keep an eye on things here.

"Yes Mam!", Wind did catch the look her instructor gave the turquoise coated mare and decided she would keep her eyes on that Pegasi. Almost looked like she was up to no good! But first she was worried about that storm. She smiled graciously at the blonde mare as she offered to help continue her training, "Thanks! Let me ask the princess something first, and then you can show me everything you know!".

The filly quickly made her way towards the princess. While she was still a little annoyed from their previous encounter back at the apple orchid in 'Sweet Apple Acres' when the good ruler practically tripped over her to cut ahead in line, there was probably a good reason for her doing so. Like that crazy be-caped pony that wouldn't stop talking and had been looking for a fight. "Princess Twilight!", she bowed once more, "Maybe we should worry about the others that are bringing back at the birds. Might be wise to send somepony to tell them to make sure they avoid getting anywhere near the Everfree with that storm about, and also.", she flew closer to the purple pony's ear, "That pony there. The one with the turquoise coat. Miss Dash gave her the oddest look. Do you know who she is?"

Storm cloud. Gonna blow up. With her near it? No way in hay.

Lightning growled, flapping her wings furiously and shooting past the Daring Do in her way. "Thanks, genius, now I gotta get another cloud to bring to this lame town."

It looked like the teams and such were forming up for an assault on the ticking time bomb of a snow cloud. Maybe the wayward mare she had nearly collided with had done her a favor. These dweebs'd be gathering up the results for hours to come if they couldn't push it off somewhere. The effort would take her just enough time to bring in another. Perfect.

The plucky pegasus peeled out once more, heading off to find another cloud to add to the clusterbuck at the door.

Rainbow Dash did indeed approve of Derpy’s request to guide the destined future leader of the Winter Wrap Up weather outfit. But before the regency of Miss Hooves officially begun, Wind Walker wanted to first question Princess Twilight about something. Fair enough; that’d give Derpy a breather to spectate the current fiasco brewing in the skies over Ponyville. Why was one pegasus building up a storm instead of stopping it? It made absolutely no sense, even to such a wise mare as Miss Hooves, Electrical Weather Specialist 1st Class.....

Flavor Music

A renegade storm cloud from the Everfree, again?! Silverbolt paused in his now mostly cleared area of the Sweet Apple Acres to heed the call that carried on the winds. He knew not who did it, but his little beatboxing routine he had prepared on the spot for Pathfinder would have to wait. "Wait a minute, where did she go?", he asked himself as he scanned the skies, his wings beating rhythmically. Well that didn't matter, he had to help the others take care of that storm!

As he rocketed towards Ponyville, he spotted a blur of wings flying off to Celestia knows where. He gritted his teeth, memories of the last time he went toe to toe with a storm such as this in his mind. He wouldn't break his wing this time! He'd be more useful to them now since he has prior experience with runaway storms such as this one that threatened Ponyville. "Hold on, Dash and others! I'm coming to help!", he shouted as he spiraled into the settlement, his goggles firmly planted over his eyes.

Punk saw when Crimson Spry suddenly disappeared underneath the water's surface and Punk saw how an orange mare swooshed away to save him from the cold water. Punk himself hesitated, not because he didn't want the stallion saved, but simply because he was rather weak and would perhaps end up in the pool as well. Wet feathers was a pickle to fly with for the weak Pegasus. Instead he scooted away in the exact opposite direction from where he had come before and it could perhaps seem like he was quitting the whole thing. This was of course not the case and Punk returned some minutes later but sadly not soon enough to witness all the drama unfold as Twilight suddenly appeared and a green professor was zapped by the intimidating bunch of storm clouds.

Punk pushed the blanket on top of the cloud from his nap in front of him. He flew down to the grey stallion at once and tossed the Pink, heart-patterned blanket onto him. The blanket could happen to smash against Crimson's face if the stallion didn't have the reflexes to catch or dodge it. "Here you go, Pal! A warm cozy blanket to keep you dry as a fly! Oh! And I brought my favorite puff of cloud just for you!" He patted his cloud as when one wants to show a dog where to sit before it suddenly struck him that only Pegasuses could actually be on clouds. "Ehum... isn't it pretty?" Punk asked to cover up his blunder, he knew that he wouldn't hear the end of it if Windy found out. "I thought it would match with your, ehum... ice? Anyways. It's all yours!" He laid a hoof behind his ear as if a cry of help had reached his super hearing ability. "I have to go! Take care of my cloud and blanket, fellow citizen!" Punk gave Crimson a wide smile and offered him a deep bow. "Another pony is saved by the humble Blanketeer. Through sheets, and BEYOND!" With that catchy catchphrase Punk swirled around and took off in the very same movement, leaving only his blanket and the possible faces of confused ponies behind to ponder on what the hay just had happened.Punk could simply had said that he wanted to speak with his sister but that would have been way lamer.

"WINNNNNNDY!" He shouted. Punk had a terrible sense to notice details he weren't looking for so he didn't quite see the obvious herd of black clouds and the epic battle between Pegasuses and lightning. Sure he saw it but he didn't see it. Instead he finally laid his eyes on Wind walker along with a purple alicorn... Purple alicorn...? Like the purple alicorn? Was Princess Twilight Sparkle here?! Punk arched an eyebrow at first, wasn't she supposed to do some important princess duty. Walker was an active member of the solar guards in the castle, soon to join the special force suntrot, and had seen the princesses on several occasions. Though it was nice to see one out of duty for a change. Punk walked up to Wind Walker and gave him a gentle poke on her head along with a *boop* sound and he smiled warmly at his sister. "There you are Windy. Not planning any trouble without me, I hope." He turned his face to Twilight and offered a deep bow along with the usual advanced swirl of his hoof. "Pardon me, thy highness, but why art thy greatness present on an occasion for common ponies?" He asked with an exaggerated formal voice. Punk didn't really like formalities and tended to go too far simply for the sake of showing his feelings about its irrelevance.

Twilight watched her friend head off with several other ponies to combat the storm "Right! You can count on me!" she smiled, honestly a little relieved that Rainbow didn't want her to go tackle the storm again "Later I expect you to tell me how you handled the storm!" she added, both eager to learn what she had been doing wrong herself and also knowing that Dash would love to tell her, no doubt exaggerated, tale of 'heroism' in destroying the cloud

Twilight smiled at the foal and listened, looking surprised "Your right" she turned to ask Dash but noticed her friend was already well out of hearing range, she pulled out her clipboard and looked over the list "they should have left about an hour ago, which means..." she pulled out a map, a ruler, a slide rule, a protractor, and a compass, quickly plotting the fastest course that the pegasai should have used "They should be about... here!" she said, pulling out a marker and circling the area in red "Now we just need to get somepony to go after them" she looked at Derpy, who's job it was the last two years to round up the birds... and then began looking around for other available pegasai... considering the fiasco before, even if derby wasn't busy with watching the foal, it wouldn't be a good idea to send her... It was then that she heard the second question, then looked around "pony with the turquoise coat..." she blinked several times as she saw Lightning Dust flying around "...Lightning...? What's she doing here...?" but Twilight shook her head "long story" she said simply to the foal "I think you should ask Rainbow about her, but I will tell you the two have a colorful history..."

The princess looked over at the pony who was addressing her now, blushing a little "please, don't bow" she said awkwardly "I'm here to oversee the wrap-up" she explained with a grin "my organizational skills and knack of planning have helped more than one year, so I'm here again, and it's a good thing to, considering the storm is going to throw everything off-schedule!" she said, flipping several pages over on her clipboard, frowning as she tried to see what adjustments could be made... "And please, I'm not Princess Luna, don't use old-equestrian to address me" she said, a hair annoyed, but still managing to flash a smile. Honestly she had a little trouble with the older version of the language, which was ironic since she was fluent in ancient equestrian, but then that was the language most spells were written in, so it made sense...

"Hey, we have a weather emergency! There's a freak storm cloud rolling in from the everfree! Anypony who knows what to do needs to break away and help clear it out before it gets worse! Only Trained experts, please! This storm is very dangerous!"

What? Crimson veered his gaze towards the owner of the voice only to see the bloody Princess of all things! A dangerous and ever approaching storm? He was certainly not a trained expert in regards to any sort of weather. Plus being an earth pony made fighting a giant floating monster storm cloud kind of, well... out of the question. Either way, it sounded like a doozy, if one wanted to resort to a brazen understatement. Hopefully it could be taken care of before it reach anypony.

Suddenly, something warm and fuzzy flew into his face. With a hint of annoyance, he pulled it from his head. It was a blanket embellished with heart shaped patterns. Before he could respond, a familiar voice made his ear twitch.

"Here you go, Pal! A warm cozy blanket to keep you dry as a fly! Oh! And I brought my favorite puff of cloud just for you!"

It was Punk Walker. The stallion patted the cloud as if he wanted Crimson to climb on but, being an earth pony, that was sort of impossible. The notion seemed to have crawled into Punk's mind as well since he quickly became a bit flustered. Even though the pegasus thought he could actually sit on a cloud, Crimson certainly wasn't complaining about the blanket. In fact, the kindness Punk displayed made him feel pretty lousy for getting annoyed with him earlier.

"Thank yo-

"I have to go! Take care of my cloud and blanket, fellow citizen! Another pony is saved by the humble Blanketeer. Through sheets, and BEYOND!"

While Crimson watched Punk fly off, a chuckle escaped his muzzle. Punk's disposition would normally have him annoyed, but the stallion's act of kindness softened him quite a bit. With his usual irritability out of the way for the time being, Crimson found Punk to be quite amusing actually.

"I suppose that solves the whole drying off problem."

Thanks to the blanket, his shivering ceased and he regained composure. Crimson glanced at the mare who saved him and a smile grew across his face. He draped the blanket over his head to cover his still frozen ears.

"I can't thank you enough for saving me, miss. I'm Crimson Spry by the way. What's your name?"

Rainbow was now making her way away from the group and towards the storm. She waited until one of the other pegusi who was coming with her came near and spoke her thoughts.

"Well, trying to wrap up winter might be difficult now. Winter sure doesn't look like it wants to be wrapped up!" As she spoke a strong gust of wing came up and she had to flap her wings extra hard to keep from going backwards. "I'm thinking we're gonna have to work together on this one for sure!"

"Alright if you're here to help with the storm let's gather up right here!" She waited until the others were within hearing range. "We need to get this storm either busted up or headed in a different direction! i'm thinking we could probably change it's direction if we can fly circles around it. There's no way we can bust it right now. it's just building up power and size so fast!" Rainbow looked at the other ponies, trying to keep a brave face on. She hoped the other teams would be able to handle what was coming. All those animals and plants would need shelter and fast if the storm got any worse...

When Professor Krashkop hears Rainbow Dash's new call for volunteers to tackle the storm, the still glowing Pegasus stallion turned to Sky Flare.

"Vee must heed dee call of our leader! Come vith me, fraulien!" he called out as he began to flap his wings and flew up to where Rainbow Dash was waiting.

"Professor Clyde Krashkop, reporting for duty, fraulien!" the gray maned stallion said as he saluted her. The Professor hovered, waiting for more ponies to gather around and then for further orders from the rainbow maned team leader. Hearing what Rainbow Dash had to say prompted a response from the aging Pegasus pony.

"I tried dee direct approach und it didn't end vell," he said, still blinking on and off like a neon light, "If vee are in need of vind to change dee storm direction, vhy don't vee create a vind tornado in dee sky vith us ponies dat can counter dee storm's vinds to turn it avay from us?"

Mistral blinked a few times as she listened to Krashkop's explanation. If this elderly pony was telling the truth he must be made of something tougher than steel! Maybe she should taking workout advice him. Now wasn't the time to be thinking about that though as they had a storm to stop,"Well good ta hear your doin' okay, pal... Sorry ta say I've got nothin' I'm usually a prety smart customah but ...I've never seen anythin' like this. If there's one thing I can do besides my favorite pasttime... it's makin' wind. Hay, I'm even named after wind!" Krashkop's idea seemed the most sound, if they could get the storm to change direction it may wear itself out somewhere away from the other ponies!

"The rest of you, decide what you're doing and make it happen. Cloudchaser, I need you with me. Who wants to stay here and make sure things are ready in the event that this storm gets out of control?"

That was a vote of confidence if ever there was one. After the earlier blow to her ego, it felt pretty good to hear Dash say she trusted her to stay with her and help now that things were tough. And wow, they were tough now! Cloudchaser had been off in her own little world, shaking as much snow from as many trees as she possibly could when the storm had rolled in, announced by princess Twilight. Cloudchaser had been fairly quick on the uptake and had rushed back to meet Dash. She had just arrived back in the vicinity of Dash when she heard her say these words.

"You got it, Dashie! I'll stay right with you until we stomp this sucker out!" she said with certainty. Cloudchaser was probably a little to thickheaded to be worried or afraid, even in the face of a storm a crazy wild as this. Sure, last time there was a mega storm and she was called to fight it, it had taken her from Ponyville all the way to Canterlot and left her unconscious in a shallow puddle for five or six hours, but that was just fuel to her fire. She was determined to beat this one and beat it good.

"Alright if you're here to help with the storm let's gather up right here! We need to get this storm either busted up or headed in a different direction! i'm thinking we could probably change it's direction if we can fly circles around it. There's no

way we can bust it right now. it's just building up power and size so fast!"

Dashie continued, addressing the assembled ponies in her usual go-getting tone. She really was all kinds of awesome. There was a reason she was one of the few from their Wonderbolt Academy Class from Ponyville who had actually made it through.

"Sounds like a plan, boss! Let's beat the stuffing out of this sorry storm and get back to wrapping up winter!" she declared with a smile, flapping her wings rapidly to indicate she was ready to move.

Flying in from the Animal Team thread...

Snickerdoodle took off from her position at Fluttershy's cottage, hoping that all the ponies there had managed to find their way inside. The winds were blowing fiercely, and she had a hard time seeing through the flying snowflakes. Circling around to get the wind at her back, she shot upwards, hoping to get above the clouds and find her bearings. Fortunately the tops of the cumulonimbus clouds were quite low, so she could get above them without freezing her pinfeathers off.

"Now, where is the rest of the weather team..." the vanilla custard mare muttered to herself. In the distance, she spotted several brightly colored ponies against the whiteness of the clouds, including a familiar rainbow blaze. "Ah! There they are. I'm sure they'll need all the extra help they can get with this storm." She remembered the last big freak storm she had to help break up, and how it landed her soaked to the skin at a bar in Canterlot. Maybe she would head that way again after this one was taken care of, goodness knows she could use a drink when this was over.

Snickerdoodle circled a bit higher, and headed over to the rendezvous point. Flying right up to Rainbow Dash, she snapped a quick salute and stated briskly "Snickerdoodle, reporting for emergency storm duty! I've left the animal team holed up in Fluttershy's cottage for now. Where do you need me, captain?"

Scooping inordinate amounts of the cloudstuff proved to be a far greater task than Lightning anticipated. Dozens of pegasi were making moves left and right, leaving precious time for her to deliver the last gift before they dismantled her other special delivery. More fun for her though; how many action thrillers had she watched while the lead pony scrambled around to stop the plans of the dastardly evildoer who endeavored to stay one step ahead of them throughout the movie.

Part of her considered the many fillies and colts probably a part of this initiative. After all, Winter Wrap Up was serious business. It was hard work maintaining a land when it was lazy enough to cause havoc unchecked. She easily shrugged off the thoughts attempting to revise her view of today's events. Lightning Dust wasn't getting mad, she was getting even. A bigger cleanup would still be just a cleanup. The catharsis would come soon enough.

Rainbow Dash was supposedly the bigger pony anyway, as that hardflank Spitfire had told her. Tch...

Just the thought of all that higher moral ground **** got her blood boiling and her hooves working harder. This was being nice, honestly. A harmless prank fit for a youngster or some such. Not that she was, because you know, adults didn't have tit-for-tat, just settling things and codes of honor.

Sun and moon, that was a pretentious line of thought.

The pegasus pummeled her new cloud into shape, grunting with effort. It was a heck of a work. Four other cumulus clouds, slowly being affected by the vindictive attitude Lightning denied inherent in her actions and turning them darker. By the time it got started, hello disgusting sleety ice rain. This beautyof a beast would need a name. Something cool for her to remember later.

C4? Codenames were pretty cool. ...yeah, C4. She was getting ready to make a very bad day with a very large C4 cloud, She laughed out loud at the appropriateness of the old adage of vengeance. It was Winter Wrap Up. Lightning could only serve this dish cold.

After shaping the package, she zoomed around it, up and down, left and right, wrapping it up tightly and then getting behind it. Lightning began moving the C4 in the direction of the town square, quietly singing a little ditty to herself. "Winter wrap up, winter wrap up. Got a little C4 here... Winter wrap up, winter wrap up! Ain't gonna be no spring in here..."

Flash sighed when he didnt get an awnser and had nodded a thanks to the pony that helped him. He went into autopilot mode and began to gather the other birds into the pack they had ammased. Through his work and straightforward focus, alot of things happened. Princess Twilight had appeared and called for the pegasai to gather for taking care of a storm. He wasnt one to work on storms and had kept his head low when Rainbow began to amass ponies to fly to the storm.

One green stallion had flown off and got thunderstruck, to which he giggled to a bit and guided a few straggler birds back to their designated position. He continued to mind himself and keep working on the usual Winter Wrapup protocols. They had a good amount of ponies volunteering for the job with the storm, they would need some to stay behind and keep the progress going.

He had the birds generally rounded up and landed here and there. He wiped sweat from his brow and sighed. It wasnt all of them but it was a good start. He looked around and saw several things happening around him, the most prominant was the earthpony who fell through the ice covered in a heart blanket. He made his way over, his hooves making a crunching noise on the snow as he neared the two ponies. He sat down nearby the two and sighed flapping his wings to get the cold chill out of them and glueing them to his sides for warmpth. He would rest for a small while then figure what he had to do next. Shuffling his hooves in the snow to push some of the cold material away and make a suitable Seat on the ground.

"You did a good job on the lake so far..." he said softly to the earthpony. He blinked and smiled, "I wish i knew how to skate." He added. He noticed that he was interrupting and adverted his gaze. To the skies above the Everfree and the storm that brewed there.

As Wind Walker stood by the slightly more agreeable Princess Twilight, she watched her brother help out a poor soggy stallion before turning her attention back to the alicorn who was busy doing math. The little filly tried her best to understand what the Princess was doing, but it was all just a bit too much for her itty bitty pony brain. “Well, I probably can’t ask her right now, since she and a few other Pegasi just left to take care of that storm, but If I see this ‘Lightning Dust’ doing anything nasty, I'll make sure to give her a good thumping!", she smiled as her brother made his way over to the pair, but she couldn't help but roll her eyes as he started to speak in the 'olde Canterlotie voice', which she was very sure that nopony actually ever spoke in real life. "I'll leave you to your planning and my silly brother, your majesty.", she curtsied quickly, before getting a quick 'boop' on the nose from her brother. After giving her brother a wink, she quickly made her way back to the blonde mare.

Once near Derpy, she waved her front right hoof at the girl to get her attention, "Sorry about that! Just wanted to speak to Princess Twilight. I'm yours to instruct, so please teach me more about wrapping up this pesky winter of ours!", she couldn't help but notice that the mare was kind of cute. Maybe Wind could see if she was seeing anypony! If her brother Punk had a mare-friend, maybe his silliness could be lowered to a somewhat more manageable level. "Just show me what to do, and I'll follow it..er..Miss..Or is it Mrs?"

“Just call me Derpy!” the young mare cried out, trying to get heard over the billowing snows ravaging the Ponyville countryside; “Come on, let’s fly out of this mess first!” Once the two fliers gained enough altitude to clear the clouds and only be pestered by turbulence, the mentor started her lesson; “The thing with today is that thanks to poor weather conditions, it might be little difficult for somepony little like you to gain some hooves-on experience. Let’s see...”

It was only at this point that Miss Hooves realized that she had no semblance of a Winter Wrap Up lesson plan anywhere in her brain. This could potentially prove a grave problem; how else could she be an effective reagent for Wind Walker if she knew not what to teach? Scrambling to think of something on the spot, Derpy spied a large darkened cloud being pushed along by that weird pegasus from before. “Uhhh, look at that,” the young mare pointed out; “See how that cloud looks like it’s ready to pour ice rain at any time? Now, lemme’ show you why it’s a bad idea to burst a cloud like that the normal way.”

But first, Derpy Hooves remembered to be courteous enough to ask permission first from the pegasus pushing the unstable cloud. Not paying attention to the other mare’s hostile ditty, Derpy asked; “Hey uhhh, I’m supposed to be teaching a filly about Winter Wrap Up, and there’s this huge blizzard-of-the-century overtaking the entire town right now which makes it hard to teach a lesson. But I see that you’ve got this really cool cloud here! Could we uhhhh... borrow it please?”

Dash was now surrounded by willing helpers.

"Professor Clyde Krashkop, reporting for duty, fraulien!"

"Great! Glad to have you professor!"

"'ey, Mister, Dash. I'll help out wit' whatever plan ya go wit' but I'll be best wit' anythin' dat involves flyin' fast or makin' winds for the tornado. If there's one thing I can do besides my favorite pasttime... it's makin' wind. Hay, I'm even named after wind!"

"Awesome! Oh, and it's miss Rainbow Dash," She eyed the goggled pony.

"Sounds like a plan, boss! Let's beat the stuffing out of this sorry storm and get back to wrapping up winter!"

"I'm glad you're here Cloudchaser! For once I'm ok with saying I need the help!" She looked over to the storm that was still growing in size. There was no telling how much snow and ice it would dump if they didn't get it moved!

"Snickerdoodle, reporting for emergency storm duty! I've left the animal team holed up in Fluttershy's cottage for now. Where do you need me, captain?"

"Hey Snickerdoodle!" Rainbow spoke while being distracted by the storm. The question of "where do you need me?" had her mind racing.

"If vee are in need of vind to change dee storm direction, vhy don't vee create a vind tornado in dee sky vith us ponies dat can counter dee storm's vinds to turn it avay from us?"

That seemed a good course for the moment. The storm was too big to fly around and reshape. It would have taken way more ponies than what she had. Perhaps making a tornado would be able to blow the storm else where. It was worth a shot and honestly, she had no better plan.

"Ok you guys, we're gonna do what the professor here said! Make a tornado and try to blow this whole storm away from here before it gets any closer to Ponyville!" She glanced at Derpy and Wind Walker as they made their way towards Lightening Dust. "Everypony get ready! We're gonna make a tornado in front of this storm and hopefully turn it around!"

She looked at who she had in front of her. With this many ponies they could certainly get a tornado going. She just hoped they all had the flying skills to keep up with it. "Is there anypony here that can't keep up if we get this thing turning as fast as we need to?"
