The Great Hunt on the Serpent's Spine!

Recommended Posts

In the snow and ash filled lands of Whitescar a call has been sounded. The Jarl of askr has been tasked by the High king with clearing out several monsters who have been a menace for far too long to these lands. Sigrun, leader of the combining clans of the east has taken Asked that any warrior worth his metal join them in a hunt that shall be sung of for ages in the halls, if those who come survive they shall join her and her citizens in one of their celebratory feasts and be given the blessing the Askr clan's ancient gods.

This hunt is not exclusively limited to Caribou applicants. Anypony, griffin, peryton, hippogriff or any species may join in this epic confrontation of the three beasts...

Please say someone is interested!

1: Bjoruk , The walking calamity. It wanders down the base of the mountains that make up the spine of the World Serpent. A gigantic creature whose hide bears the properties of stone. It is the walking calamity, a massive ursine beast with a body that nears the size of the Sea wall of Barn in height. His body breaks even the toughest blade and cannonballs bounce off it's form harmlessly. It may not be the most cunning of the creatures but it's size, power and surprising bursts of speed make it a foe to be reckoned with. It's hunting territory has been growing larger and lately it has been seen nearing the port city of Barn Rumors say there is a chink in his armor somewhere on his upper body or head... but it requires a thin weapon to pierce through it and do damage. Because of it's recent movements toward the city of Barn, this will likely be the party's first quarry.

2: Amaroq, The great blizzard wolf: Since the days of old, A great and powerful howling that legend says fuels the winds of blizzards in the nights of White. In the mountains of the Serpent's spine, there are two creatures who bring nightmares to the minds of any who would dare traverse the snowy wastes; this is one of them. This gigantic lupine specimen is suspected to be the cause of death for many a calf on their rite of passage or traveling warrior. This Great wolf bears eyes that shine in the high winds of snowstorms and fur that melds so perfectly with the snowy lands he may as well be invisible to those who would try to hunt him. The only things that warriors that have tried to take his hide to their lodges would see in their last moments would be a pair of massive jaws about to swallow them whole...

What makes Amaroq so dangerous in addition to her horrific camouflage is the fact that he seems to eitherbe continuously followed or following harsh blizzard that severely reduce visibility and make spotting him in either the night or day almost impossible.

3: Hraesvelgr, The Soaring death. Rocs that snatch up the unwary caribou who wanders the wilderness alone are by no means rare. There is only one who is so bold and swift in the skies to be whilling to steall fully grown warriors off the seawall and soar off before retribution could be enacted. Only one who would ravage vulnerable caravans in the snowy wastes and leave the cargo untouched but leave no trace of life. This Roc is Hraesvelgr. some say he is a vestige of ancient days, a predator so swift that death has yet to catch him... on the final hunt our party shall give death all the help it needs.

This looks fun. Not sure it is the type of place suitable for Limi, however. The Southern Wilds are more appropriate for him- unless, of course, they are just trying to get the Red Jarl's littlebro killed!:o

Ah, right, if I didn't make it clear... Halvard would most likely go after Bjoruk, or if that thread's full, Hraesvelgr.

Ylva will go wherever Sigrun goes. :catbug:

I'm not sure where sigrun will go until other ponies start telling me whether they want in on all or one of these creatures! :P
