Recommended Posts

I've been wondering for a while and I wanna know, mine are: fall out boy (favorite record is infinity on high) panic at the disco (favorite record is too rare to live too rare to die) saves the day (favorite record is sound the alarm) my chemical romance (favorite record is the black parade) and twenty øne piløts (favorite record is blurryface)

And what are your favorite song by those groups? Mine are

Fall out boy: carpal tunnel of love, Novocain, headfirst slide into Cooperstown on a bad bet, I don't care, I'm like a lawyer with the way I'm trying to get you off (me & you), dance dance, a little less 16 candles a little more "touch me", sugar we're going down, I've got all this ringing in my ears and none on my fingers, band the doldrums, you're crashing but you're no wave, thnks fr th mmrs, this ain't a scene it's an arms race, "the take over, the breaks over", Thriller

Panic! At the disco: this is gospel, memories, Vegas lights, nicotine, miss Jackson, girls/ girls/ boys

Saves the day: take out cars now!, shattered, bye bye baby

My chemical romance: teenagers, house of wolves, na na na (na na na na na na), blood, famous last words, dead!

Twenty øne piløts: holding onto you, stressed out, screen, car radio, tear in my heart, the judge, rise, polarize, we don't believe what's on TV, message man, not today

As you can see, FOB is a big one for me. But what are your favorites?

Favorite bands... So many to list.... (I'll try to keep it shortish and keep it to band acts rather than solo acts save for classical) Also this list will be highly eclectic...

Led Zeppelin, The Police, Parlament Funkadelic, Rush, Art Blakey and the Jazz Messangers, B'z, Caravan Palace, System of a Down, Clazziquai, Daft Punk, Bach, Mozart, Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky, 2Cellos, Postmodern Jukebox, Diablo Swing Orchestra, The Who, Eagles, The Doors, Ellegarden, Omodaka,  Motorhead, Tool, Opeth, Meshuggah, Queen, Aerosmith, Depeche Mode, Rage Against the Machine, Dropkick Murphys, Pink Floyd, Bulldog Mansion... And those are only the ones I can think of off the tip of my head... There are so many more that I listen to when the fancy hits me. (And yes, I listen to bands from all languages)

Not even touching favorite songs... Nope nope nope... Sheesh I don't think "favorite song" is even possible with bands like Zep, Police, SoaD, Queen or any of the classical artists... Just so many great tracks.

Stairway to Heaven is the name of a band? What? All I know is the Led Zeppelin song by that name. Don't get me wrong, it is a great song, from one of my all time favorite bands, but I'm slightly confused since I've never even heard of that band name....

And Raridash... Great list. Yup. Love a lot of those bands.

I end up listening to a lot of soundtrack music these days but I used to be really obsessed with Amanda Palmer and Emilie Autumn. I did go through an ICP and MSI phase when I was younger. I still listen to them occasionally, but I seem to live with the assorted Silent Hill soundtracks on loop nowadays...

Whenever I walk my dog I blast the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtracks in my ears. It's become a thing: smile uncomfortably back at joggers and envision pirates swinging between their fighting ships.

I'm a big Power/ Melodic Metal fan, so most of my favorite bands fit in that area.

Blind Guardian, Avantasia, Nightwish, Hammerfall, Iced Earth, Lacuna Coil, Freedom Call, Power Quest, Rhapsody of Fire, Kamelot, Helloween, Sirenia, Epica, Evanessence

Then there's the rock/ pop from the Seventies and Eighties and Nineties:

Queen, Journey, Foreigner, Pink Floyd, Moody Blues, Styx, Def Lepard, Ace of Base, Depech Mode

Then my other bands I like:

Paul Oakenfold (Techno), Blackmore's Night (Medieval Rock), Enya (New Age), Frenchy and the Punk (Punk), S.J. Tucker (New Age), Project Wendigo (Local Band), Abney Park (Steampunk), Platform One

Bands/ artists I watch on YouTube:

Bagpipe Brony, Aviators, Radiarc, Knife Pony, Feather, GhostXB, Nichola Dominigue (think I messed up the spelling), Waterflame, L Train, Ponyphonic, Makkon, 4Everfree Pony, etc.

I'll try to keep it brief, but no promises

Ramones, because silliness

The Clash, because nonsense

DEVO, because energy

Lindsey Buckingham, because holiday road

Green Day, because catchiness

Crush 40, because SANIK!

The Beatles, duh

Led Zeppelin, because variety

Weird Al, because why not? Also weird al is coming to my hometown soon and I get to see him in concert.

The Seatbelts because cowboy bebop

Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, because nostalgia

that's about it. Looking over this list makes me feel older than I really am. All of these bands formed before I was born.

The majority of what I listen to doesn't come from bands, but I'll see what I have...

Acrassicauda

White Chapel

Oomph!

Katzenjammer

Infected Mushroom

Inner Party System

Ratatat

Blue Foundation

Gorillaz

Kongoz

Muse

System of a Down

Uh, I think that's it as far as bands go. With that said I cherry pick songs. I might like some and not others, it's very rare for me to like entire albums. Out of the ones I listed Infected Mushroom is easily my favorite, but I'm not even sure if it qualifies as a band. There are quite a few things that other people listed that I like, I just haven't listened to them recently.

Someone should make a thread about soundtracks so I can fill an entire page with my list <3

Oh my God, I haven't noticed this post for a very long time!

I actually made a mistake. It is actually Led Zeppelin, like you said. Thanks for the correction!

You get a cookie. A monster of a cookie. You'll have to rip it up with a chainsaw just to feed yourself. But don't feel like you have to eat the whole cookie just because you got it as a gift, I don't want you to get sick of it.

((somebody call the bad-humor police, there's been a breakout of puns!))
