tacobob
Just came back from the midnight showing of the Avengers. AWESOME film, but if you see it, stay after the credits (well, the credits for the main actors) and if you're into the funny books, your comic book head will explode. Doc Hoof MD
Just came back from the midnight showing of the Avengers. AWESOME film, but if you see it, stay after the credits (well, the credits for the main actors) and if you're into the funny books, your comic book head will explode.I just got from the midnight showing as well. It was quite the experience. I had the crowd that was really into the movie. That made it really fun.The action was incredible. I had to go to the bathroom from the start but they never gave me a break. It really didn't feel as long as it really was. I am going to wait for the appropriate thread before I say anymore
Sparkleheart
Just saw The Pirates: Band of Misfits yesterday. I was actually kinda disappointed. I mean, it's not bad, but it just felt like there wasn't anything particularly special about it aside from the EXCELLENT animation.

flutterscotch
That has been on my list for a while, but I still haven't gotten it because I'm not sure what it is.What it is specifically is that Joss Whedon and a bunch of his friends were affected by the Writer's Strike that happened around then, so they decided to make a web-based, musical, 3-act miniseries about Neil Patrick Harris being a hilariously ineffective supervillain, and Nathan Fillion being, of course, smarmy.I watched the Avengers. It was awesome, even despite my biases.
Parker_Izing
"Beast", Spell as "B3AST" like trying to write it down Russian or something (In cirylic, "3" actually means "Z") a movie about a Russian tank crew in Afghanistan back in 1981.It bears no resemblance to the book it came from "Nanawatai" (From Pasthun, meaning "Mercy") but is a nice flick about Russian tank crews and equipment.. Tenkan
Unbreakable.Which is ironic, 'cause everything in the movie was broken, including the writing and directing.
weesh
I enjoyed that movie the first time I saw it. Was odd and a sideways look at the superhero genre. It did not stand up to multiple viewings.
Tenkan
I enjoyed that movie the first time I saw it. Was odd and a sideways look at the superhero genre. It did not stand up to multiple viewings.I even heard it got good reviews...But I feel the director's camera angles are always awkward, and the constant silence of the movie tends to get on my nerves. And that ending? What an anti-climax, I gotta say...*Face palm*Sorry, Weesh, but that's just my opinion.

Rosewind
Finally saw Brave. It was good, but not what I was expecting. This is tragic, because I've been following this movie since it was first announced in production by Pixar as "The Bear and the Arrow" several years ago. It was gorgeous and everything, but eh. I dunno. I'll have to think on it. I felt the whole time I've seen this movie before -- then I realized I have.
Chonico
Seeking a Friend for The End of The World. It was okay. Not what I was expecting, but given the trailers I saw, but it was still enjoyable.

Dio
Also saw Brave last weekend. Definitely not what I was expecting but still great. Copious amounts of scenery porn and excellent characterization, though I would have thought there would be more about the demon bear.

HarringtonSleuth
Just watched Brave the other night with my family. Great movie. And as for the demon bear, I think they pretty much had all that explained before its introduction.

I have finally seen Dr. Horrible! (And I own it. Thanks, sis)Fantastic. It really sets your imagination going. And the music is jaw-dropping.Also, I finally saw Batman...and I could have skipped it. Worst of the three by a decent margin. Perhaps I had my expectations way too high after "the dark knight".
